@katgreen Several years ago, I had a hardier one in the ground outside for a few years & it flowered like crazy, but the very bad winter of 2009/10 killed it. Since then I've been very wary of leaving any out in the ground. They just don't grow so vigorously in a pot
@jeatacake well it's my first time growing in a pot so I will let you know how it goes, I had one in the garden many years ago but it didn't survive so maybe I will have to have less growth but a live plant 😃😄
@katgreen Yes, you are right. Maybe the best compromise is a really big pot, so it thinks it's in the open ground, but can be put in the greenhouse in winter?
Thanks its on back fence at min but smothered by clematis n viburnum blocks its sun still gets plenty of shoots but no flowers and been in 3 years think I will get a large obelisk and try it in a pot if it survives. Thanks 😊
Flower just opened today in the greenhouse 😊
@jeatacake ......amazing pic. Such a beautiful flower :)
@flof1952 Thanks, it is. Wish I could grow it outside, but I think anywhere near -5C in winter would kill it
Looks beautiful 😆 I've put mine in a pot so it can be outside summer and inside in winter @jeatacake

Mines got leaves but no flowers it doesnt get much sun as covered by shrubs so need to move it i think in spring see if it takes somewhere else 😕

@Keely The one I had which did well outside was in full sun, so a move might be just what it needs. Like the new photo BTW👍
