Do I detect a hint of sarcasm Miss Kerry? :D The base of each of those must have consisted of well over a 100 canes, each at least an inch in diameter. The whole of the canes were probably easily 6 ft+ across at the base @kez001uk
They are. Ones at home are usually quite skinny slow growing things, although my black bamboo got pretty tall this year, 3M+ I'm hoping to see one of those with the very thick stems too. @kez001uk
@jeatacake black bamboo seems to be a vigorous beast! My neighbour has some and it grew a ridiculous amount this year too 😜 it’s gorgeous though so I’m sure you’re not too mad about it 😛 or the free canes 😉
It's by the front of the greenhouse and so far it's no problem. As you say, when it does get too out of hand, the canes will come in handy. There's a huge one here in the back garden of the house I've just bought. My first though was how useful they'll be once cut off, for climbing plants amongst other things @kez001uk 👍
Thanks Kerry. There are several I like already, but a few that'll get the chop. Oh yes, thinking of many things to grow, including many of those I fought losing battles with in the UK! 😄 @kez001uk

@jeatacake nice! I bet you have some great plants in your new garden 😛 and nice to get to eventually grow things you couldn’t here 😁

@jeatacake yessss! Choppy happy, my kind of gardening 🤣 you really do have the best of both worlds now 😊
Got to beware of snakes hiding amongst them though. They'll be getting the chop too before they get me! 🐍🗡 @kez001uk
@jeatacake oh good god 🙈 hadn’t even considered there’d be snakes 😱
