@daisy-jane 💕 these were probably my most favorite new addition to the garden. I planted them so I could see them outside the kitchen window. (So I could admire beauty while doing the dishes. Lol) Thank you ever so much! I'm saving seeds for next year. 😁
It's very pretty and a wonderful distraction from the task at hand ;-)
They smell wonderful👃
Okay, this is criminal. I never thought to smell them! Lol @kimguy
No it isn't. I'm surprised at how many times I miss out on smelling some flowers until people would ask about them on gtags. My back hates that motion of bending over! Lol @jennlamaye
@kimguy I think because of my allergies I just don't think of it. Lol
Beautiful Jenn I'm glad they done well for you,I have mine outside my kitchen window too 😁 and there's always plenty of seed to collect for the next season 😘👍
I don't think. That my problem. I stick my nose in and the allergies start. Meds help a little. Lol. @jennlamaye

Last chance on #sweetpea #seedlings ❤️ hoping these don't die on me before going outside.
@jennlamaye have u grew these before? Was reading these can turn brown in summer from the heat. Wondering how true that is as I'm hoping to be using sweet peas on my gazebo walls n ceiling but not sure if it will cover efficiently.. thx
@perennial_lover this is my first year with them but @daisy-jane or @Yollymac or @jeatacake might have information / advice 💕
Sorry I can’t help I really know only succulents very well. @cyndi @KelsiBriana May know. 😃
Hi Samantha @perennial_lover I'm no expert on these lol but I did grow them in a big trough planter last year up bamboo cane's,none of mine turned brown until they'd finished flowering,I kept them watered well so they didn't dry out,I think if your going to grow them up a gazebo and want height don't pinch out any growing tips like you would normally for them to bush out your probably better off leaving them intact but just putting more in to get a fuller look, what about wisteria or clematis
Good suggestion Jane! Thank you 💕 @daisy-jane
Your welcome hun, think a clematis or something like that would cover better, sweetpeas tend to look messy as they're going over 😁😘👍
@perennial_lover They are very vigorous & once established grow to 2 to 3 metres tall here. In northern UK climate they only starting die off in autumn. I just cut them right back & in spring they start again. As @daisy-jane says, if you want permanent cover, these are not the best choice.

@terrimclaughlin first time good me trying to grow these. They actually grow on their own everywhere around here, but I love the smell. I do need to find a good spot to put them. @terrimclaughlin

#sweetpea #germination of #seeds in two weeks of #stratification in the refrigerator.
That's interesting! I usually soak mine for 24-48 hours! I may stick them in the fridge this year! 😀
@bigemrg I read a couple different ways. This was interestingly successful. I normally soak too.
Ooh, did you wet them before refrigerating them Jenn? Think I'll start some off today! ☺
@bigemrg I wetted a coffee filter, put the seeds on it and folded it over, and placed in a ziplock bag in the refrigerator. 😉 Good luck! Let me know how it goes! It only took two weeks for mine to germinate. Quite surprising!
@jennlamaye - Brilliant! Thanks Jenn! Mine will be going into the fridge this evening! 😀
You are very welcome, Ian!
😀👍🏼 yay!

Really? They are reknown for it. Great colour too 👍
@jeatacake silly, isn't it? Some times things seem obvious, but... 😉
Love the colour😍👍
I believe they are edible. Lovely in a salad!
