Well that’s spooky coincidence as I was just thinking about these today. I’ve lifted the ones I had in pots and they are currently buried in old dry compost temporarily behind the shed. I’ve decided the imperials only seem to grow better in the ground so planning a big shift and will replant in September. Need to find my persica bulbs too that are already in ground to split them.
I would probably plant them no later than that as the roots seem to start growing early on these if I recall. Will plant the bulb sideways too as that seems to have helped water collecting in that little central hole in the bulb and causing rot.
My first ever tigridia popped open today!
They are pretty, I’ve got a white one that opened today
Fantastic! Are these bulbs Joan? You know I’m partial to a bulb.... 😏
They are a bulb Richard, got them at our local Wyvale in the spring. Another is opening so look out for another piccie @richard.spicer.7906
Talking of bulbs Richard I took out my fritillaria and am letting them dry out. When should I replant them? Any ideas? @richard.spicer.7906
