Maybe I was too quick the other day to say that I’ve never had more than one flower open together - well not only do I have three this morning but they are each a different colour! If only I had a white one to complete the set 😆 liking full sun and lots of heat ☀️ #tigridia #tigridia-pavonia #tigridiapavonia #mexicanshellflower #sunshine

Thanks everyone! Already labelled them up, hoping to one day have a pot of each colour so will try some bulb propagation on them. @MyrtusGuy82 @cyndi @rhododendronmad @linfoster @ulrikagustafsson @debs69 @QT @philstalder @joolza @gjones @godfreye @clipperty

Thanks Lewis! Second year growing them and quite taken with them. They are odd though as despite the number of bulbs I bought they never seem to flower together 😂 i get one flower, and then it’s about a week later another one flowers! @lewish

I know Phil, you really have to be quick to catch them! I tried to separate mine last year into there individual colours as it was a mixed pack. Definitely have red and yellow labelled up now, but haven’t seen any pink or white yet @philstalder

11/09/19 - ooo a yellow one, last three to open had been red! Might label this one up and separate it off later in the year 😍💛 #tigridia #tigridia-pavonia #tigridiapavonia #mexicanshellflower #yellow

Thanks Pearl 😊, they need a bit of staking but mine are probably about 60-70cm tall. They look like gladioli leaves, if that’s a good comparison perhaps 🤔👍🏼 @fuschia

I think I can spare a red one for you Julie 👍🏼 - I’ve labelled each stem so when the foliage dies back I’ll lift them for you. Might buy another pack next year, was hoping for a white one (I think they come in white too don’t they?) - also letting them go to seed as thought I’d give that a go @vec

Thanks Katy, quite something - Shame they only last a day, but worth growing them if you catch them open 😊 @gjones

Not fully sure as it’s my first year growing them, but if I recall I think they would probably dislike the winter U.K. wet. I’ll probably keep them in the polytunnel over winter as a precaution 👍🏼 @edelweiss001

04/08/19 - last past tonight, so sorry for spamming your feeds this evening, I just have a lot of missing plants I’d like to add. I’ll leave you with this glorious looking #tigridia flower, in red! I’ve marked the stem and maybe I’ll transplant this to a separate pot. Hopefully I’ll have a few more buds soon. Good night everyone 👋🏼😴 #tigridia-pavonia #tigridiapavonia #mexicanshellflower
