@johngibbs Welcome to GT . I think your plant may be a type of Winter flowering Honeysuckle.
Probably Lonicera fragrantissima
Yep, winter honeysuckle 😍
Hi John! Welcome to this great gardening community. You’ll be hooked on the app before you know it!!! I agree with the previous posts. Definitely winter honeysuckle. 👍 @johngibbs

Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me to the app and identified my winter honeysuckle. Now I need some further advice. I inherited it from my Mum who died in November and every time I look out to the garden I see it and it reminds me of her. She was a remarkable woman and still enjoyed pottering around her garden until she died, 97 years young. I want to ensure that I take very good care of the plant so that I can continue to keep Mum's memory alive in this way. Is the tub big enough?
Hi John, aren’t plants perfect for keeping our memories alive. I have a witch hazel that I bought as retail therapy when my Mum died & it flowers every January and reminds me of her 👍😊
Lovely Shot
@johngibbs You don't really have to do anything with a Winter flowering Honeysuckle, Lonicera Fragrantissima, except to prune it , if necessary , after it has flowered , to keep it to the size you want . Good luck John.
Thanks @johninbrighton. My biggest concern is whether the tub it is in is big enough and when I should feed it and if so with what?
I have one in a part of my garden that is mainly builders rubble, so it gets a bit of fish, blood & bone in the spring. I’m sure it will tell you if it gets too big for its pot. The main thing will be to make sure it doesn’t dry out in the summer. Good luck 😊
