Bitter melon is good elevated blood sugar. Usually it is recommended to diabetics. There are two varieties- Chinese that is light green color and less bitter and the Indian variety that are small and darker green color, very bitter and hence very good for diabetes. You can thinly slice them and sauté it in EVO oil till light brown and crisp, sprinkle little salt.
It is very healthy to eat bitter melon. It is known to help diabetes but now the new research shows that it is good for cancer as well. It is available in supplement form/capsules.
