Lobelia cardinalis 'Queen Victoria'

The poor lobielia suffered yesterday but I believe it's due a Chelsea chop, I think that's what we do for autumn?

Morning Jeremy, the Chelsea Chop is usually done in May, it's best to leave some growth on perennials to give them some protection over winter. 😊😊😊

Definitely needs a chop but without the Chelsea 😊👍 That's done around the time of the Chelsea flower show to help stop plants flopping, such as Sedum. I didn't do it, so mine are flopping 😂 Good morning by the way

Thanks Susan, I'm learning what to chop and what to not, really appreciate all the help here. I wish I had a book that you could look up each plant and read seasonal care...

I leave half of most of my perrenial leaves on Jeremy and tidy up in Spring it protects your plant as well as your mulch as the frost will hit the tops oppose to the base growth and its that what you will cut off in Spring 😆

I'm gutted.have tried for 2yrs to grow this one.but got stood on or pulled out with 🐱.now I managed this year was looking fab the blooming wind snapped it.😠
