This is a tree that I inherited but I have no idea what it is! Last year it looked very poorly with only a few leaves. This year it has grown a lot and now has these growing on the tips. Any suggestions?
Thanks for allowing me to follow and peek in your gardens! #plantid @joanboston @jamesshobbs @PlantDoctor @lovestogarden @drumadixit @gjones @SikoMa @grantham @linfoster @mrsflowerpot @cyndi @carolgs - any thoughts on this?
Yes this is a Campsis. Loves a hot sunny position. Feed with a high potash feed such as tomato food. Trim lightly at the end of summer and again before it starts into growth in the spring. Very exotic when in flower. Those are buds that are forming now.
It seems to be growing like a tree rather than a vine @bensgarden. It stays up with no support. I can't wait to see it flower now! Thank you for the tips about trimming and feeding @PlantDoctor. It was left by the previous owner of my flat and had been cut back to nothing! I kept my patience with it and did my best to nurse it back to life. Hopefully it will do even better now I know how to take care of it! Thank you all for your comments! So helpful. 😊
So you are all right, just a bit of semantics... @PlantDoctor called it #Campsis which is the scientific name of #trumpetvine ! So much knowledge on this site! You all teach me so much...and no homework 😉. @bensgarden @carolgs
Kari, your comment made me realize what a personal part of ourselves we share when we expose our gardens to each other. It is really an honor when I realized this, to know so many people want to see my fun hobby, pleasure, past time, mistakes, .... THANK YOU, for my peeks into your beauty realized as a garden. ❤ @KariSamuel

Interesting 🤔🤔 I'll do some digging and see if I can discover what it is 👍🏻
Hello Kate. Is it really a tree? The leaves and buds looks like Trumpet Vine, but this plant typically needs some support for groving up.
