Grasses glowing in the morning sunshine #foliagefriday 💚💚💚
I love these grasses @Keely 😍
@jpea thank you it is a fab one just glows in sunlight 😆
Love the colour of this, so zingy. The one you gave me is forming a nice clump now too! 💚😘
@rachelbrooks thanks hun n that's good it will soon spread I split mine every so often n share 💚😘
@keely I'm looking for recommendations for another grass to compliment/contrast with this Carex in a small (5m x 0.5m) shaded gravel covered area ive created beside a new path under eaves of a shed (moist and shaded). Similar height. 😀
@barrowman hi Chris do you have the red hook sedged everflame grass its a shorter version to this but deep burgundy compliments this one well. I will tag you in pics of mine 😆

#grasses are #glowing love the bright green of this one 💚💚💚
And me keely. I might have to put that on my list 🤗
@davewrightjoinerygooglemail.co its a lovely Spring one and not too invasive either easy to split I've got a few in garden now
Im just looking at getting one of these keely, one site says dont grow in full sun, as the leaves bleach. The other says best in full sun. Any advice. Im thinking of sitting it in my pond, it comes in aquatic pots at crocus, but itll get a lot of sun.
@davewrightjoinerygooglemail.co all mine are in part sun Dave this one that thrives only gets afternoon sun....not sure about the pond though I very rarely water mine this is at back of the spirea bridal wreath which is very dry, I have some in back border that's damper never seem to do aswell 😕
Thanks keely 😊

#grasses taken earlier in year love the colour of this one 💚💛💚💛
Really like your grasses!
@kamaki thank you very much, I have quite a few varieties but its too wet outside today to do pics ☔😕
You're welcome. It is very wet, and windy.. Another day then, when the weather is better.. 👍🏼
Are most grasses hardy? Ive not got any grass in my garden..
@kamaki they are the odd half hardy or short lived ones but mainly most are hardy, they add great texture to a border or pot, I have a lot in pots in my back garden as its north facing to the patio area so they do great there 👍
Thanks for that Keely! and do they tend to spread easily? As I'd like something to fill gaps. Im also going to look into mosses as well..
@kamaki they do which means every 3-4 years you can split them in Spring and have more plants to put somewhere else or share 👍😆
Awesome, thanks Keely! 😉
@kamaki your welcome 😊

Looking lush 💚💚💚
Love that Keely, I need some grasses but I need to see what space I've got when everything starts to spread. 😊😊😊
@pelly they are so easy to look after Jane I have quite a few for different seasons and split them every couple of years so get more plants. These are a lovely variegated bright green leaf look lovely in borders I have put 3 babies in back border this year wont be as good as this one but will be by next year, not invasive this one either 💚👍
Thanks for the advice Keely, I've put it in my wishlist 👍👍👍
@pelly Jane this comment was a year ago however your wish is coming to you on Sunday Hun I will bring a small one of these for you it's a lovely Spring grass 😄😘💚
Aww thanks, you are such a lovely lady. I’m so looking forward to it 😘😘
@pelly I love to share with friends Hun you are very welcome 😘
Me too, I have your seeds ready 👍😍
Thanks Hun 😘 @pelly
@pelly this is it Jane 💚 goes a lovely vivid lime green in late Spring with its brown plumes 👍😊
Thanks Keely, I'm beginning to wonder when I'm going to get all my new plants in, I've only got this and one other to catalogue now though 👍😘
@pelly I've potted mine on and will over Winter what I don't get in as some were for back border too wet for winter with them been small, I've done under window border now still got to finish side path border a huge peony to go in there and then I will start on dafs n tulips later 😲 never ending but keeps us active 😊

@davewrightjoinerygooglemail.co this is that grass in the damp border it would seem it will grow in dry or damp and looks just as good in either #grass #grasses 💛💛💛
I got two small plants keely, after i saw yours 🤗
@davewrightjoinerygooglemail.co they soon spread I will split this one next year and get two plants from it 💛👍😆
That looks great! Super colour 💚💚💛
@midnightgardener thanks Chris it does stand out in a border 💛
@Keely I need one for sure! 💚💚
@midnightgardener when I split this one if you are anywhere near Crossgates one day I can always pot it up for you or if you go to Harrogate flower show if its still on in autumn can bring it then hun got two to split as they don't stand upright if you don't split them every 3 years I've enough in borders now hun x
