Was going to throw this last year as it had nearly died due to clay soil thank you to Julie for your advise potted it up and cut half back and although its not thrived as needs to bulk up again I have 2 little flowers on it and it looks so healthy again . @juliesgarden A long way off your beauty but you saved it from compost heap and next yr it will be even better Thank you hun 😘😘😘

If you want to ever put it back in the ground what you can do is dig a hole about 3 times the size of the plant and get rid of the clay soil and replace it with good soil! I've had to do this alot and now my planting area's aren't to bad! Lots of work tho!😉💘😍

@rachelbrooks oh no I used to have this in a pot until it went in back border it thrived in a pot but hated back border and I loved it so glad I kept it will keep it in its pot again now 😄

@ShelleySnyder I don't think I could dig down 3' I'm improving soil each year but as you say it's alot of work, got back raised border soil perfect now but doesn't get much Winter sun still working on front behind hedge is the worse add grit and manure twice a year now but it gets so wet over Winter it all takes time front gets more sun so not too bad to work with and add all spent compost too 😄

@Keely I agree with @katgreen and make sure pot in ericaceous compost and give it a liquid feed with an ericaceous feed. I would also consider giving it a prune. Done it myself with some of mine, and got amazing results!!! 😀
