Another one that will thank me for it later in the season that's had the #chelseachop this evening is this sedum always find it gets too heavy but after its chop it fights back and produces a lovely mould of flowers late summer 😄
Perfect! 👍🏻
@hayleyaj thank you hun 😊
Should be ideal for these as like you say, they do get very leggy & flop over easily if left to their own devices when flowering. Needs a bit of bravery thought to do it! 👍
@jeatacake I've done mine for years now Jeff not worried about this one it soon pulls back 👍👌
I bet you'll get at least twice as many flower heads too 👌
If you swipe pic to left you will see last year's flowers on mine the leggy one is the neighbours makes such a difference 💕 @jeatacake
Ah yes! Great results 👍 Will have to have a chop at mine too 😀✂️

My neighbours clump of #stonecrop inherited from my garden 👍 keep telling him to split it so it keeps a nice mould but in one ear out of other!!! #sedum
😁😂
@jasonsparkes1 when they get too big can split each year if you wanted in spring so adaptable and take easy even if you just put one root in from plant it would take, you can give them Chelsea chop which i do so get a smaller mound rather than leggy ones, just makes flower a bit later that's all or do some branches on plant and some not 😁
Afternoon peeps. Spent the full day at mums re vamping one of her borders today so I earnt my Sunday roast she made me lol. Happy with end result and lots of manure dug in too, just needs a mulch later now and that's one of hers done for Spring n Summer maybe just a few fillers to go in later. My sedum at home is changing to its #autumncolour now this is one I gave the #chelseachop earlier in year forms alot lower growth mould oppose to tall n leggy
Nowt like Mum’s roast! You definitely worked for it!
I did the Chelsea chop on mine this year, half and half and it's paid off, where would we be without them at this time of year? 🌸🌸
@rachelbrooks thank you hun 😘
@pelly full hog next year Jane now you've done it you will remember each year 😄
It was the first time I've done it and I found it quite scary, but I did it on several plants and it worked well for me. I never went the whole hog though, maybe next year 😱😱
@gjones thank you 😄
