I'm new to gardening but have a very basic knowledge. I moved house a year ago and went from a tiny garden to a big garden. Can't wait to learn

@mikethegardener is this the same as in your video?? I'm so confused as to what this plant is. I'm calling it autumn joy. I also have something called purple ice plant, is that something different all together? But great video, really helps. Do I not need the rooting powder stuff when taking a cutting?

Hi yes it is the same plant. It's Sedum spectabile or the ice plant. I never ever use rooting powder. It's supposed to help but as I say I've not had a problem with taking any cuttings without it. Just keep the cuttings watered and out of direct sunlight initially. Good luck. Let me know how you get on!

@mikethegardener sorry last question lol. Can you take a cutting from a tree/plant at any time of the year or do you have to wait till after flowering??

Really depends what type of tree/plant you were thinking of. This time of year is usually the best while it's still actively growing, and temperatures are warm enough to allow continued growth while it's rooting. Hope it helps. And no problem about answering questions.😊
