@kez001uk ..... This is fabulous Kerry ... How old is this plant, and how/where do you keep it in Winter, as I want to try to grow one indoors .... I've had one in the past, but it just died when I put it outside for the Summer.

@columbiariver thank you Laura 😃 it’s outside through til autumn and then an unheated greenhouse til the frosts are over with. Loses its leaves but always comes back well 💕

@johninbrighton thank you John ☺️ this is over 3 years old now, doing better than ever too! I used to keep them indoors through winter but now it’s left in an unheated greenhouse and seems to do ok. Drops its leaves but soon as it warms up they come back. Used to keep it indoors but got too big 😂 I hope you try one again 💕

@hkyfvr I just had to read up about this holiday 😜 I always assumed you had the same bank holidays as we have 🙈 will you get the jubilee holidays next week? And it said today is the official start of Canadian summer 🥳🥳🥳

No jubilee holidays but we did have Charles and Camilla here last week. 😄 It is the unofficial start to summer though. 😍

@hkyfvr that’s a shame ☹️ we have a 4 day weekend for the celebrations 🥳 I quite like those 2. They’re more normal than most of the royals seem to be 🙈 hopefully that unofficial start to summer will bring plenty of sunshine 😁

I still remember the incident with those two years ago and all the fun people made of it. I was angry at first that he married her but now realize that she is dedicated to him and her role in the family. Prince Andrew is another matter. 🤦‍♀️ Today was a lovely sunny day with more to come. 👍😄

It would have saved a lot of misery if he had just married her before she wed her first husband as she was probably tired of waiting and wanted a family. Then Diana would still be here and maybe having a great life. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Just saw the forecast and it is rain till Friday then a lovely warm weekend. It is my son’s birthday today. 🥳

@columbiariver @vegandmore I have had and another one for a couple of years and normally have them indoors over winter. But in spring they were put outside far too early and were hit badly by frost. Both have bounced back surprisingly well so they’ll be living in a heated greenhouse now I know they can take it 😛

@jeatacake I’m so pleased. It almost ended up in the bin after I put it outside before that last nasty frost 🙈 was reduced to nothing. But fought back and is looking really healthy. Maybe I hardened it off a little 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's an amazing recovery but I wouldn't risk taking too many liberties with it & frost! 🥶

@jeatacake definitely not! It has its own obelisk now so will be left to grow on that in the heated greenhouse. Hopefully that’ll be enough 🤞🏻

@laneygarden I think pruning may have helped with this flowering. It wasn’t doing much until I cut it back a little and gave it some fresh soil. Now it’s in full bloom 💕

@pelly to be honest Jane I do very little. They like heat and sun but not much water so don’t suffer if they’re a little neglected 😂 I just moved it into the greenhouse since it’s turned cold and it’s now on the 4th flowering since I got it at the start of summer. I just go in and water it a little every few days and it’s put on a load of new growth and a few more flowers too 😁 definitely try one, they’re much easier to take care of than you’d expect ☺️

@bellabells I imagine they grow everywhere in your climate 😍 need winter protection here but I’m hoping I can get it through the cold spell 🤞🏻 thank you Bella 😁

Not a huge plant really. Has dropped a lot if it’s leaves but so much new growth, new stems even, and lots of flowers 💕

Next year you will have quite a plant with all the new growth!

@kimguy I do hope so 🤞🏻 I check on it multiple times a day at the moment 😂 he needs a bigger pot and some trellis in spring so he can grow til his heart is content 😂

Dropping leaves and #brackets are normal for #bougainvillea. This makes them quite messy, but I love them anyway, as my seven plants show. 😂❤️

The cold here, which is very little, just being slight frost once in a while, does not bother mine. The wind is what beats them up. Your so sweet. My son told me this week that I like "bougainvillea too much". I just laughed-guilty as charged. 😂😂❤️

@gjones I hope so 🙂 I always assumed the hotter it was the better plants would do but having gone through this summer I stand corrected! It’s destroyed and hampered the progress of so many. Let’s hope their rest will reignite them for next year 😁 oh even better that it’ll be it’s first flower ☺️ the frosts would have put an end to that little flower spike so it’s great you caught it at the right time 😋

Bouganvillea is very a floriferous plant when it has plenty of sun and warm weather. It is very tender so it needs to be indoors during the winter months

@jeatacake outside. I did sow the seeds very late so not surprising. They’re climbing well, growing at a ridiculous rate, just waiting on the next step 😂

They should be & certainly sound fine. The fruits grow fast once they get going 👍🥒

@jeatacake would you believe it’s from a supermarket! Starting to look really good now 😍 I have it on a removable trellis so I can bring it in before frosts. After killing one last winter I learned my lesson 😬

It will probably go semi-dormant over winter but if a good few degrees above zero, then it should be fine if kept a bit on the dry side 🤞

@gjones fortunately I bought it in flower so have seen what it’ll look like but I didn’t think it’d flower again. I cut it back after the first flowering so I’m hoping that’s what’s encouraged the new flush of flowers. And I’m sure the heat we have here at the moment is helping ☀️
