Not sure when Mozzers start stocking plants but worth having a look. I saw hellebores for sale in my local market and they were £15 per plant 😨😨 You just need to repot the new plant in a deep pot as hellebores like lots of space around the roots and Mozzers sell them in tiny pots. @jeatacake

Keep an eye on the leaves and cut back the ones with brown markings. I spotted black spot on my hellebores this week 😕

I prefer them with foliage 😜 I had to cut back some of the foliage because of black spot and now they look so bare. 😕 Actually, black spot doesn't seem too bad this year. ☺

@ublaszko I must admit I don’t cut any foliage away unless it’s looking bad 😜 at least you have lots of flowers to distract from the lack of leaves 😉 I noticed it on a few of my roses but it’s all old foliage so needs removed anyway

I noticed it on my roses too so removed the foliage and sprayed with RoseClear. The new foliage looks healthy 😊👍

Long wait is finally paying off 😉👍 I just sort of accept that they start to flower in February onwards so anything flowering in January is a bonus. I even have a couple of crocus flowerbuds 😁

Mine look like they're about to flower but someone told me we're about to get snow up north. So it could be back to proper winter. That's what happened last year, it was very mild until about 4th Jan and then we had snow and very cold temperatures.

@alan1111 I have a hybrid hellebore in flower and a hellebore niger in bud. I think once the temperatures drop it kicks the hellebores into flower. I'm sure I've seen photos of hellebore flowers even earlier than this (October and November) 😁

I think it might be a flowerbud as the flowerbuds on my newest hellebore look like this one. I reckon you got some very young hellebore seedlings as it takes 4 yours for hellebores to grow from seed to flower.

I got some hellebore seeds this year and I'm dreading to wait from sowing time to flowering time 😁😁 I think most people buy hellebores already in flower so they can see the variation of colour although if you buy young plants it is much cheaper. There's usually a special offer out there of 12 hellebore seedlings for £12 if you're willing to wait 😁 @alan1111
