Beautiful rich colour. Love these 💜💜
@hkyfvr @gjones thank you both ☺️ They look and smell so lovely. At least they’ve been left alone by the snails, so far 😜
Most welcome. That is good to hear. 👍💜
Beautiful color!
@lovestogarden thank you Janice ☺️ they have a lovely scent too 😋
Nice!

These smell sooooo good 😋 #primula
Lovely and bright, just what's needed today 💛☔💛
So lovely to see the bright yellow in December. They are awesome Kerry. 💛💛
@pelly @hkyfvr thanks ladies 😀 the leaves have been feasted on but the flowers take all the attention 💛
@gjones thanks Katy 😃 they stay out all year round, in full shade. They seem happy there but the birds love pecking at them 🙈
Very welcome 💛 They deserve the attention. 👍😍
@gjones oh it’s definitely a double-edged sword 😂 there’s not too much left to enjoy now but the primroses definitely give some low maintenance colour through the horrible months
@hkyfvr the doubles are starting to flower now too 😍
Wow. That is awesome 😍

Great colour ♥️♥️😊😊
@ublaszko I knew I liked it for some reason 😉 its ruffles made me pay attention. Don’t remember ever seeing this in my garden before 🤣
@midnightgardener thank you Christine 😀 not usually a red fan but has hints of pink and orange so it can stay 😅
😏😏 I apologise 😂😂
@ublaszko for what? 😮
For the ruffles 😂😂
@ublaszko an occasional ruffle is welcome 😂

Mine is showing signs of flowerbuds too 😊👍
@gjones thanks Katy 💛
@ublaszko flowers soon 😁 but a sign it’s getting colder 😫
We had the heating on tonight. I really don't like autumn 😕
@ublaszko it’s not nice is it. Damp and chilly 😝
The only good thing about it is that I'll get a chance to catch up with Gardener's World as I haven't seen any episodes since spring.
@ublaszko why not??? 😱
Very pretty, such a sunny shade of yellow
I'd rather spend time out in the garden when it's nice instead of sitting indoors watching gardens. 😁😁 @kez001uk
@laketitlow thank you Annette ☺️
@ublaszko doing rather than watching 😛
Makes more sense to me to watch garden programmes in winter when evenings are long and you can't really do much in the garden and that's the time to get inspiration for next season.

@kez001uk What a great color. 👍😁
@tkept thanks Tom ☺️ I do like the dark ones. Look a bit more traditional to me 🖤
Love try dark colour 😍
😍😍
I was just thinking this looks similar to my dad's primulas. It seems more petite and delicate and only has a little bit of yellow in the centre. I think I could enjoy these in my garden. Will have to keep an eye out for something similar 😚
@richard.spicer.7906 it’s lovely isn’t it 😛 I do like the crazy coloured ones but these are a nice change 😋
@ublaszko they are quite delicate looking and although dark and rich in colour it’s one that would go with many of your plants. And I’m certain they’re scented
I like rich colours as long as they're not bright. That's why I like magenta and burgundy and rusty brown but not pink, red or orange 😁 I'm definitely warming up to primroses since I realised they're not just the ones with bright yellow centre.
@ublaszko garish has no place in your eye-line 😂 the doubles you can’t see the centres so they’d be ideal 😉😉
I didn't know that! Might have to take a look at the double ones 😆😆 Garish is the last thing I'd allow in my garden 😁😁 I think I'd be more forgiving if I had a big garden so I could soften bright colours with other softer tones. But my garden is not only tiny but also short so everything is pretty much in your face 😁 My OH keeps saying it's a jungle out there 😅
@ublaszko true, least in a bigger space the colour wouldn’t be right up close at all times 😜 it’s a beautiful and organised jungle 😍

Perfect ❤
@ublaszko it’s so tiny but perfectly formed 😁 they flower so randomly 😂
Wish mine would flower again! It's grown a few more leaves but no flowers yet. Maybe you have some nonstop flowering varieties 😋
@ublaszko we have the opposite problem! Mine barely have leaves 🤣
😁😂
- Early Spring 2019

@gjones they’ve never flowered like this before. Moved them into the front where there’s no sun at all and they’ve gone wild 😂
@gjones it would seem so 😁 thanks Katy ☺️
Yes my yellow primrose has never had so many flowers on it at once! Waiting for my single pink one to flower too!!
@bluefox23 must be the weather, they’re all thriving! Look forward to seeing your pink one 😋

They're looking really good 💜👌
@jeatacake thanks Jeff 😃 they are a bit bartered by hailstones but never seen them so flowery 🤣
Mine are a bit rough around the edges too. Not sure if we had hail while so was away but they're growing well & there's plenty of unopened flower buds too 👍
@jeatacake think most of the country has hail when you were suffering from your tulip overdose 😜 always nice to have a bit of colour you can rely on 😁
Absolutely & a nice diversion from the effects of discumtuliperization! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@jeatacake best word ever! You gotta start a hashtag for that one! 🤣
Ha ha ha! Not sure what the "powers that be" on here would make of it! 😂😂😂😂
@jeatacake could face a lifetime ban for promoting anti-tulip-ism 😂
Ha ha & not allowed to ever set foot in Holland again! 😯
@jeatacake can’t take the risk! 😜
I'd better not mention clogs, windmills or cheese then! 😀 @kez001uk
@jeatacake 😂 too late 😉

@gjones Thanks Katy 😁 these are by the front door because they smell so good. Never noticed their scent before
Beautiful 🤩
I love the colours @kez001uk
Stunningly gorgeous!!
@gjones I hadn’t noticed before but as I lift the pots onto a little bench when I deadhead they’re nearer to me to notice. I think it’s the cream ones that have the scent
@cyndi thanks Cyndi 😀
@jeatacake cheers Jeff ☺️
@wtwitchell6969 thanks Wayne 😊
@kamaki much appreciated Andreas 😄
Yep, that dark purple red is my favourite! 😍😍
@ublaszko usually the foliage is much darker but it’s greened up for some reason 😕
That's odd. Maybe it's the new foliage that starts dark and gradually turns purple or the other way round.

Wow ive never seen this before such a beautiful flower 😊
This is a very pretty one Kerry!💘😍
@mattdaaussie thanks Matt 😁 Quite a lot of colour in the petals when you look closely 🧐
@ShelleySnyder thank you Shelley 😁 I didn’t notice til I added it that the petals have pale pink on the tips so kinda love it a bit more now 😂 hope you’re well ☺️
Oh yes I see! Makes it even prettier! I'm good thank you!💘😍
@ShelleySnyder happy to hear it 😁
@gjones thanks Katy 😁 how’s the snow now?
@gjones best being home when it’s getting bad out there 😜 I expect your cold is much worse than our cold! We have a frost here tonight but it’s only -1 so not too bad. They’ve had snow up north but not reached us yet and none forecast that I know. It’s going to stay this temperature for at least the next week though 😝
These are all looking great & hopefully many more no the left of flowering too 👍
That’s a lovely one. Love the touches of pink 🌼💕
I love the centre of these flowers that look like a glowing antenna 😍😁
@gjones It's the wind chill factor and humidity that makes it feel much colder. Chills you to the bone, that's very accurate. Polish winters are very cold (sometime down to -20 degrees C) but very dry and houses well insulated so it's positively toasty. As long as you have your winter clothing on and hat, scarf and gloves it's a real joy to walk in the snow in the brilliant sunshine ❄🌞

I like your dark dramatic primroses 👍👍
@ublaszko they’re moody little things aren’t they 😛 are very small though but flowers seem to last ages on them 🖤
Did you grow them from seed?
@ublaszko no but they were tiny plugs. Maybe have some filling out to do yet 😂

I like this color!💘😍
@ShelleySnyder thank you ☺️ looks like velvet up close 😍
I bet it does! Very nice!💘😍
@gjones thank you 😁 the flowers seem to last for weeks on this one too 😜

@gjones they all take it in turns and have pretty much flowered all last year and still going strong. Have really performed well since they’re in full shade
@gjones will the snow be gone by February? I guess there’s little point garden centres having many plants this time of year 🙁 although it’s not long to wait until they stocked up again ☺️
@gjones oh wow, that’s a long time considering when you first started getting snow and frosts 🙈 I’m with you there, want spring to come and the chance to get back outdoors ☺️

Oh yes a good time to bloom!😊💘😍

@kimguy me too! And the tiny yellow border around the edges of the petals 😍 they’re so much more detailed than they sometimes appear ❤️
This has got to be my favourite too 😍
@jeatacake it’s quite festive looking don’t you think 😛
It does. I've heard of Christmas cacti, but maybe you've got the first ever Christmas primula! 🎅

They're flowering like it's spring, but to be honest, mine have carried on flowering on & off, but look nothing like as good as yours 👌
@jeatacake they do just seem to do different things in different gardens 😂 unpredictable to say the least! I’m certain yours look just as good but you’re always so kind about my plants. Thank you Jeff ☺️

@ublaszko I keep taking photos trying to get the right colour but it refuses to show 😂 it’s really lovely and different though 😍
@gjones thank you 😁 I’m not sure what the name of these is but love the little white dots on the petals 💟
It's still a great colour even if it's not the right colour on the photo 😊
@ublaszko thank you Urszula 😁 is this like the darker foliage of the ones you want?
Nope, the one with darker foliage has pastel peach, yellow and cream tones. 😊 But I'm going to be adventurous next year and get dark red primulas 😉😉😂
@ublaszko oh yum, they sound beautiful 😍 is dark red not in your usual palette?
I have red flowers in my garden but they tend to be red with pink shades or apricot shades. I had really bright red carnations this year and I couldn't handle it. 😅 I ended up binning it 😓 I think I could get used to vibrant reds in early spring when the light is low and the reds don't look quite as bold 😉
@ublaszko you got rid of a carnation plant??? They will look a little less harsh in low light but even less so in no light 😉😉😂
😂😂😂 My carnations didn't make it through the big summer clearout. I got rid of some plants I wasn't happy with to make it easier to water the garden during the heatwave. I have two other dianthus I kept but I didn't like the fragrance of 'Lady in red'. And the colours didn't really go anywhere.
@ublaszko that was a smart move really, no point keeping what you don’t want. I must start doing the same. I try keeping everything, even plants I don’t particularly like, and I resent taking care of them 😂 looks like my sister will gain a few new plants this weekend 🤣
The way I think about it is if I keep everything I won't have space for new plants that actually are pleasant to look at rather than a source of constant annoyance. ☺

@kez001uk Lovely colour too 💜💛
@anges thank you 😁 they’re much darker really but never shows on the photos 😖
@gjones they all seem to be continuously flowering. And just bought another 25 so going to be overrun with primroses 🤣
@gjones I got some called Husky Peach Schnapps and 5 different belarina primula. Hope they’ll be as pretty as they look. I’m so glad you found one 😁 but that is expensive 😲 I’m sure it’ll be worth it, they’re such gorgeous plants 😍
Amazing colour...!!😍
@shaz831 thank you ☺️ love the deeper shades 🖤

My yellow one is almost open! 👍😄
@ublaszko yay! Look forward to photos 😁
Another day or two 😆😆
@ublaszko they’re worth the wait though 😋
Can't wait for the flowers as so many plants other are now finishing their thing. 😊
@ublaszko it’s sad how early everything has finished but just hope autumn gives us a bit more colour 😁
I'm glad I've gone for different types of foliage this year as they'll continue to provide colour through the winter 😊😊
@ublaszko going to need it cos looks like winter is on its way fast 😨
The temps after tomorrow are going to drop to 14 degrees C in daytime 😨😨
@ublaszko wow that’s a sharp drop! Don’t want it to stay that cold for long 🤪
Unfortunately, it's supposed to stay cold until Sunday 😨🙈 Maybe it will motivate Pudgy to sit on my lap to keep warm 😂😂😂
@ublaszko well if it gets pudgy sitting on you then I can put up with a few days cold 😂 don’t have my little fatman to sit on my lap anymore 😔

Spring again? Maybe that little shield bug thinks so too? 😁
@auricula thank you Elise ☺️ much darker in reality too, phone doesn’t capture dark flowers very well 🙁
@jeatacake it’s nuts! They’re all waking up early 😂 wondered what that critter was. Thought it was a spider so took the photo and ran 🤣
Lol! What are you like!
@jeatacake they’re just horrid things 😝
Love the colour 😍 Very rich 👍
@ublaszko thank you Urszula ☺️ wish I could capture its true colour though
I know what you mean. I still can't capture my dark purple/violet clematis. It ends up too light and doesn't show the blueish undertones.
@ublaszko annoying isn’t it! Even in shade it’s not the true colour
Have you seen the new primulas with dark foliage? This one looks like it had dark foliage too.
@ublaszko this has dark green foliage but I’m going to google it to see if there’s darker 😋

They're thinking it's spring again! 👍😀
@jeatacake it’s insane, they’re all waking up again!
It's very odd. The long hot spell has confused a few plants!
Yep same as mine. 😊 @jeatacake
Must have a peep at mine! 🤔 @bluefox23
@jeatacake just hope they still flower when they’re supposed to too 🤞🏼
They should do, although some things that flower again out of season don't flower so well next spring. I'm thinking of rhododendrons & azaleas more than anything 😕
@jeatacake oh no, both my rhododendron look like they’re budding up again 😦 that’s bad news 😣
That may be just those forming for next spring. They do form the flower buds early. Do they look like are about to open?
@jeatacake I didn’t know that, thank you 😁 they’re far from the flowering stage so I’d expect you’re right, just getting ready for spring 🤞🏼
Cameilias are the same. I checked my rhododendrons before & they have flower buds, but Definitely for next spring 👍
@jeatacake camellias would give me anxiety 😅 that they can just drop all their buds before flowering is worrisome! I’ll have to take a photo of my big rhododendron so you can give your opinion ☺️

Loaded with flowers 💖 #primula
Wow. So many flowers. Love the colours too. 💗💛💗
I was going to say the same as Karen @KOutdoors. I chucked two of mine away yesterday as no matter what I've tried they looked terrible 😕 🌸🌸
@KOutdoors @hkyfvr @pelly thank you ladies ☺️ this is one of a handful that haven’t been eaten yet. Some have had the flowers eaten so much there’s nothing but the stalks left 🙈 it is nature but it’s heartbreaking when you wait so long to see something grow and it ends up looking like a net curtain 😡 need to get some wool pellets in the pots 😜
