Haven’t ever known this to flower twice 🤔 #salt-cedar #tamarix-tetrandra

Bonus bloom 😁

I stumbled across the very first salt cedar I ever saw a couple months ago, and it seems to have been in bloom continuously all summer. Is that unusual then?

Mines just started to put on so@e growth Kerry .. lots around the coast here 💗

@hkyfvr it’s a lot less than when it usually flowers but nice to see all the same 💕

@emch aren’t they beautiful! Mine never flowers for more than a month but I’m not sure what’s normal for it 😜 wouldn’t mind it being in bloom all summer though 😍

@juliesgarden I bet they grow so well on the coast! A rare one that likes the wind & salt spray 💕💕💕

Absolutely!!

Pretty little flowers 🌸🌸🌸

Such cute little flowers. Love the darker centres. 🌸♥️

💗💗💗

@pelly @hkyfvr @jeatacake thank you muchly 😃 the flowers remind me a little of Heather. So delicate looking but they’re more robust than you’d think! 🌸

Very welcome. 🌸🌸🌸

That's lovely, the flowers are so airey and delicate 🥰

Beautiful plant!

Ooh I like this 😁 how tall does it grow Kerry 🤔

So pretty and wispy looking. 😍😍

I think I’ve got this Kerry, but just a baby atm 💗

I'd be tempted to give them a shake to see there's any salt in them! 😁

@topiarytragedy @maldavis @hkyfvr thank you all 😁 it’s especially nice when there’s a breeze. The branches look like they’re dancing 😅💕

@vegandmore thanks Christine 😄 apparently it can get to 4m in height! Mine is about 5 years old and still quite small, but it’s in a pot and I chop it back quite hard every other year. Bigger ones look so much better 💕

@juliesgarden it’ll love being near the coast 😛 bought mine as a baby and took a couple of years to fill out 😜

@jeatacake 😂 be a great way to keep slimers away! 🤣 had to Google why it’s called a salt cedar - apparently they tolerate salt water and excrete salt deposits through their leaves 🤓

@gjones thank you Katy ☺️ hope the snow is finally gone and you’re able to get out in the garden finally 🙏🏻

Fluuuuuff 💕💞💕💞💕 #salt-cedar #tamarix-tetrandra

Little pink tickling sticks 💕💕💕

Awesome pink fluff. Have not seen these before. Very pretty 🌸🌸

🎶 I'm all about that fluff, bout that fluff 🎶

Is it a tree or a bush Kerry......I’d love a small tree like that....💗

Pretty 😍

This is lovely 😊

@pelly 😅 love that description 💕

@gjones thanks Katy 😁

@hkyfvr thanks Diane 😄 it’s a little different. Looks lovely blowing in the wind 💗

@jmlincoln 🤣😂🤣 these need to be the new lyrics!

@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom it’s a tree but don’t think it gets very big. I’ve seen them planted to form a hedge and they look so pretty like that 😍

It’s coming 😍 #salt-cedar #tamarix-tetrandra

I'm thinking of getting one when I see a good price. I've seen a mature salt cedar in a TV show and it was stunning 😍

Ooo it likes coastal conditions. Adding that to my wishlist. Its lovely

@ublaszko they are incredible when they get to a decent size. Not sure what I’m doing with this so it’s not been pruned ever 🙈 would add some nice movement to your garden 💕

@DeborahBanks apparently it thrives in your kind of garden 😁 would be a great addition 😛

I think I have the very perfect space for one too @kez001uk I think it has to be a next payday treat

@DeborahBanks ideal way to celebrate pay day 😉

Gorgeous photo 👌

Gorgeous! 😍😍

All dose tiny little flowers how long it will be in flower for

@lexicon thanks Alex 😀

@natii thank you Natalie 😃

@alan1111 it’ll be in flower for about a month. Not bad really 😛 and looks pretty as it fades too. Have a soft spot for this little tree 💕 reminds me of astilbe

That would be one big astilbe 🤣

@alan1111 stuff of dreams 😍😂

☀️ #salt-cedar #tamarix-tetrandra

😍😍😍

@ublaszko a rare moment of appreciating the garden rather than working in it 😂

I know what you mean! I sat down to read an e book today but the battery was on 8% so I ended up repotting a few plants instead 😅

@ublaszko 🤣 can never rest for too long 🤣 I did the same. Sat for a while but kept looking at what I needed to do 🙈 so needed to go do it 😆

Beautiful 👌

That looks exciting 😉

Wow! Loads of buds there

It looks like braid...😘

@suerichards thanks Sue 😀 it’s one of my favourites, especially when it’s in bloom 💕

@telswirld lots of pink fluffiness on the way 😁

@alan1111 the whole thing will look like a cloud of pink soon 😋

@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom it does! Like those little friendship bracelets 😁

That's another one you have I don't think I've seen before. You've got a great collection of plants how long are you gardening kerry

@alan1111 it’s a pretty one, reminds me of an astilbe. Thank you ☺️ I just grow a bit of everything and anything 😂 I started gardening in summer 2016 but properly from 2017. Not long really, hence my limited knowledge 🙈

Four years! Don't put yourself down kerry you have more knowledge than you think look at all your healthy plants 👏👏👏

You can almost see what looks like salt grains on it!

@jeatacake it looks true to its name as it fades doesn’t it 😛

It does. Are you tempted to give it a bit of a shake to see if any salt grains fall off? 😀

@jeatacake the winds have done that for me 😂 garden is like a giant bag of salt n shake crisps 😜

Ha ha ha! 😂😂😂

💕💕💕

Very pretty

Intriguing close up!💘😍

@ublaszko gorgeous isn’t it 😁

@matewe thanks Cori 😁

Sorry.......pinkalicious 🤪

@ShelleySnyder love seeing the masses of tiny little flowers ☺️

@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom right up your street 💕

To the top of the street.....😂 I’ve got a similar plant ‘sonchifolia Pink Bouquet ‘ 💗👍🏼

Beautiful 😍 I’ve had some very successful hardwood cuttings of these, can’t wait till it gets much bigger, although will be waiting a while 🤣

@wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom I just looked that one up, beautiful! 💗

@richard.spicer.7906 thanks Rich 😁 does seem a quite slow growing one but sure you won’t be disappointed when yours reach flowering stage 😉

I haven't seen it before. It's adorable 💕

This is adorable!!💘😍

@ublaszko just noticed it had started opening today. Thankfully the wind left it alone 😜 it’s one of my favourites, reminds me of astilbe but on a grand scale 💕

@gjones thanks Katy 😃 it’s a lovely little tree, about to look it’s best hopefully 🤞🏻

@ShelleySnyder thanks Shelley 😄 the flowers are definitely what makes it 💗

I thought it looked like mini cherry blossom 😊

Welcome Kerry! It is very cool!💘😍

It's beautiful Kerry 🌸🏵🌸🏵

@ublaszko if my eyesight was good enough to tell I may agree with you 🤣

@jeatacake thanks Jeff ☺️

💕

What a beautiful plant! ❤️

@natii thanks Natalie 😊 it’s even prettier when the tiny flowers open 🌸

I was about to say that I've never seen these, but I remember seeing a similar plant in the garden of a friend's neighbour. It looked gorgeous! I'll check that the next time I'm there 😁

How cool is this plant!💘😍

@natii is theirs a full grown tree? They look incredible huge and covered in pink fluff 💕

@ShelleySnyder it reminds me of a giant astilbe 😛

That's pretty then!💘😍

@ShelleySnyder couldn’t agree more ☺️

@kez001uk It has the size of a big shrub. But I'm not sure if it's the same, it's almost a year ago that I really looked at it. Didn't pay much attention to it afterwards when there were no flowers 😁

@natii it is just twigs really once the flowers are over 😂
Mid Spring 2019

@gjones oh they’re gorgeous! It flowered a little last year and those pink buds open up like an astilbe. Covered in light pink fluff 💕 I can’t wait to see it in bloom again 😁

Far from interesting but covered in new growth ❤️

New growth is interesting!

@lesliecole49 love it on this. Goes from twigs to fluff in no time 😁

I agree with @lesliecole49 At this time year there's so much new growth & things are changing every day. Lots of interest, including this one👍

@jeatacake thank you 😁 I must admit I love looking around at all the new growth too 🌱

Every day I'm out there, looking to see how much this one has grown today or which is sprouting. Things I've just planted I expect to see inches tall! But I only just planted them! Mostly in my yard it's, 'well did this one die too?' My success rate is getting better tho. 🤣

@lesliecole49 it’s a fascinating time in the garden, always something new to spot out there. But I’m with you on thinking every plant has died off before I’ve given it a chance to regrow 🤣
