#cactus #grown-from-seed
Wow, how long did it take to get to this size?
Whaaat? That's possible?! 😯
@lesliecole49 took around 18 months from sowing seed til this photo. They’re not hard to grow but it feels like an achievement to grow a cactus from seed 😂
@jmlincoln I had no idea until I randomly saw seeds online 😜 not many germinated but these are the 2 of 5 that did 😁
That's awesome! Put that one on your resume 😜 haha
I can't even keep a cactus alive! So growing from seed, to me, is a great accomplishment! You go, girl!
@jmlincoln it’s probably a bigger achievement than anything else on there 😂
Lmao it is extremely impressive, so I can't even argue you 😜🤣
@gjones thanks Katy 😛 mine are only in 2” pots still but about due a bigger home I think. I can’t believe you have so many 😲 can see why you’re addicted though. It’s fun to watch what they turn into 😛
@lesliecole49 me neither 😂 think they’re only still alive because they’re away from me! 🙈 thanks Leslie ☺️

Updating. #cactus #grown-from-seed
That’s fantastic
Very pretty.
Wow, that's come on well 👍
You've done a great job there Kerry you wouldn't find better in a GC 👍
@Mary200631 thanks Mary 😀
@novicegardenlover thank you Susan 😃
@jeatacake thanks Jeff 😄 2 from a whole pack of seeds isn’t great but I’m pleased they’re doing so well 😛
@gjones thank you Katy 😁 how are yours doing?
@alan1111 thanks Alan ☺️ they look pretty good if I do say so myself 😌😅 they seem to enjoy it in the greenhouse year-round
Impressive..from seed !!! 😀😀
@sherrisgarden thanks Sherri 😊 they’re not too difficult once they’re past the tiny stage 😛

Oh wow, that’s fab Kerry and this size in less than a year, well done 👍🏼😆👏🏼
@sieveheadsarah thanks Sarah 😀 they’re in an unheated greenhouse and are doing quite well really. They’re the only 2 left of 4 but doing pretty well so far 😛
@auricula thanks Elise 😃 I just leave them to their own devices and they’re happily growing away 😛
I bet they’ll do really well during the summer Kerry 😀
@sieveheadsarah summer? There is such a thing? 🤣🤣🤣
I can hope Kerry 👍🏼🤨🌞🌞
That is very impressive Kerry and patient!💘😍
That's fantastic! 👏👏👏
@ShelleySnyder thanks Shelley 😄 thankfully they plod a long nicely without too much help from me 😉
@anges thanks Ange 😛 never had success with ones I’ve bought but less tempted to overwater them in the greenhouse so maybe that’s what’s keeping them alive 😂
Very welcome!💘😍

@gjones these are my seed-grown cactuses 🌵
Lovely
@novicegardenlover thanks Susan 😛 quite proud of these spiky little beasts 😁
Understandable Kerry.
Wow! Impressive!💘😍
Sooooo cute !!! How long did it take ? 😍😍
@ShelleySnyder thank you Shelley 😃 have done better than I expected 😛
@sherrisgarden thanks Sherri 😁 I started them at the beginning of the year, early February I think
@gjones thanks Katy 😛 they’re very short but quite round, still not sure what they’ll turn out to be 😂 the first photo I took of them was 9 months back 😜
@gjones sounds like a plan 😁 the spikes seem to grow faster than the actual cactus 🤣
So that's not bad Kerry, February. I'm so impatient with seeds, in my mind I figured it was 2 years . Hahaha !! 🤣😎😂😁
@sherrisgarden I must admit I am too 🙈 if the pack says 14-21 days then I wanna see them within 3 weeks 🤣 slow growing ones are a real test of patience. But these have just sat happily in the greenhouse and I do little with them, just potted on a couple of times and water on a rare occasion 😛

@gjones had a little growth spurt. How are yours doing?
@gjones they really aren’t in a hurry 🤣 and one is far less speedy than the others too! They have got bigger and a lot taller, I’ll post another view tomorrow 😊 they do seem to be enjoying the greenhouse so hope they’ll get even bigger by summers end 🤞🏻 Look forward to seeing yours 😁
@gjones sounds like you’ve got lots going on! No worries, enjoy your guests and garden 😘

@gjones little progress update: have 4 now 😁 and they all have a fluffy spike 😅 2 red like the top one, a bright green one like the top one, and a 3-pointed one at the bottom. Can’t wait to see what they turn into but should at least have 2 different types ☺️ how are yours doing?
They look so adorable 😍😍😍
@gjones that’s not a bad germination rate! Think I only got 4 from 25 seeds 🙈 I thought so too! Wasn’t expecting their needles already 😜 looking forward to seeing yours 😁
@ublaszko they are so so tiny but hopefully not for long 😅
@gjones funny you should say that, I just checked on them and there’s a new member of the family today 😂 I will definitely keep the tray for a while, read before that some seeds can take over a year to germinate 😜
Hopefully, they will bulk up over spring and summer 😊
@gjones I do! These look to me like they’ve not moved in weeks! Must be a typical behaviour, maybe needing more heat before they take off again
@ublaszko here’s hoping 😁

Doesn’t look like much but I got cactus seeds to germinate 🤗🥳🤪 no idea what kind they’ll be mind you 😅
That’s cool keep me posted 💐
@wtwitchell6969 I’ll definitely update if I manage to keep them alive 😂
Okie dokie 🌺
Nice one Kerry 👌😊
Wow, awesome 👍🏼
Awesome Kerry.
@gjones yours look fantastic! I’m surprised any germinated for me since it’s been so cold in the greenhouse. But I’m determined to try keep these going 😂 if only to find out what they grow into 😛 it’s quite exciting 😁
@jeatacake thanks Jeff 😀
@Hellebore thank you Liz 😃
@novicegardenlover thanks Susan 😄
@columbiariver thank you ☺️ I think I started mine around the same time but having that week of sunshine really got them going. I hope when it warms up a little for you that yours will kickstart 😁😘
