Thin rhizomes of the variegated solomon's seal. Close relative of Lily Of The Valley, the rhizomes have wound healing properties.The berries, leaf and stem are poisonous. You can estimate the age of plant by the number of scars or seals on a rhizome. For I.D. #variegatedsolomonsseal

@ofthought . Did your Solomon's seal make it? It has a reddish tuber like root.

Not sure it could have died back already. My personal non variegated has died back already. Probably won't really know till spring.

They are pretty darn hardy so I'm sure it is O.K.

Is yours still going? My false Solomon seal ( have one) still green. Interesting.

They are yellowing.
