The birds where all at it this morning and picked all the red Cherry's, I've wrapped a few bunches up and put some shiny things on, so far so good... They only need a couple more days if that till I pick them. I'd be happy with a bowls worth 👐 🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦

Wondering if I should harvest the Cherry's now before they all disappear! There are already lots half eaten by birds 🤔 They will surely finish ripening off the tree and still taste nice if I pick them now won't they? 🌞
@kimmy01 What have you got to lose if the birds are getting them? I guess I’d pick them. Might try brown paper bag in refrigerator to store them. Just guessing. Good luck. 🍀

Pick the Cherry's before they turn red or let them get eaten?🤔
Can you not net it Kim is it too large now? It would be such a shame if you lost them to the birds..keep your bird baths well topped up with fresh water for them as they mostly go for the berries for water 🍒😋
#cherry #cherry-advice
Thanks @mich its a bit big for a net I'll just have to let the birds have some too lol I've been wanting to get a nice bird bath
My dad puts carrier bags over his figs, don't know if that would work on the areas you could get to🤔 hope you get to have some!
Ohhh that's a good idea @titchyfra 👍
Yummmmmm!! 😍

Before and after pruning. My first time cutting a tree and actually thinking about what I'm doing 😊 I hope I done OK #pruning #cherrytree #beforeandafter #trees #treesinsmallgardens
Looks good to me @kimmy01
Good job, it'll come back just lovely 😊🌸
Never mind the tree I want those flamingos...!
Lol they definitely brighten the garden up font they @wagsmomthompsonbtinternetcom and I need it with the fence I have 😊👍
Love the flamingoes too 😍 really hate to write this but always think knowledge is power and fingers crossed this won't affect your Cherry but it is best to prune any plants in the Prunus family when in full leaf, i.e. End of May to mid July as they can be very susceptible to an fungus called Silver leaf if pruned in winter, with any luck at this time the wounds will heal quickly 👍🙂 but I do think it is worth knowing, really sorry to sound like a nobby know all 😐
Thanks @icedance no I like to know these things. I did google and YouTube all morning and read some books all said to prune in winter then I found some said to in later summer for sweet cherry trees but I thought he meant as well as spring lol ohh well I hope its OK after such a big cut in the middle 😮
Yes hopefully they will not be affected just depends if the spores are around, glad u don't mind my saying, was worried I might have upset you , I had a couple come in with the fruiting bodies on their Plum tree which was bad news ☹️ if on doubt go to the RHS website , best to google the question then go to site as it can be tricky to navigate i.e. Pruning cherry trees ? Then click on the rhs link 👍you may want to nip out and get some tree sealant to brush on tomorrow? Although the sap is ...
... rising now do will hopefully have sealed it off already 🙂
Thanks @icedance I'm just looking online now and some people use petroleum jelly... Researching first before I do anything though if it turns out I can just use something in the house that would be great.
OK forget that @icedance it does more harm then good expescially with fruit trees
That sounds interesting always good if you can use something you already have, let me know what you find out 🙂

1 of 4 Cherry's on the tree 😂 there where tons last year!
Same here 😠
Its grew a lot though @juliesgarden has yours?
Not really Kim 🤔🤔
I've taken lots of pictures of my 2 cherry trees is there anyway I can remove some pictures but keep them marked as cherry tree still without deleting them and re uploading ? So I will have to cherry trees on the list. Hope that makes sense @ukgardentags

All the Cherry's fell off my tree 😮😭 Why? #help
☹️ @kimmy01 maybe there was a cold spell at the time of blossom that got to them 🤔
Yes @titchyfra there was one or two come to think of it 🤔 I don't know last year we has loads but had some bugs on everything eating way and now they are just falling off 😭
Oh @kimmy01 are there bugs on it now? If so, try posting the bugs on it and see what replies you get 😬
No there is no bugs on it this year @titchyfra there was last year... I'm now thinking it might be because I cut it far back last summer to get to the fence and get rid of ivy and we had a fire that touched damaged a branch from the heat getting rid of all the ivy there was so much or when I was planting under the tree once or twice I cut a route 😞 poor tree I'm not being a good owner
It's certainly been through the wars @kimmy01 how about adding some fresh compost to the base and then add a feed in a months time to help build its strength for next year
