Gooseberry sawfly, first time getting this last year and it's here again this year. Before it eats the whole plant I've put some diatomaceous earth around the base and the whole plant.
This has also happened to my gooseberry for the last 2yrs, I’m keeping a close eye on it this year 🤞🏻
This one snuck up on me cos it started at the back, I'm hoping the diatomaceous earth works

Loving its bigger home already showing new growth 😊 I'm glad, I thought I might have disturbed the roots to much. It's got strawberry and nettle in the pot too 😂

@kimmy01 does it fruit?
It used, it was part or a bigger bush from my allotment but I dug some of the route out when I gave it up and planted in the nearest container I found then with moving house all the gardening things got put on hold and I got disheartened by it all but now I'm back 😊 and this gooseberry bush is going to get planted in the new bored in my front garden and it should be good for fruit this time next year I'm not so sure about this year but we'll see. Sorry for the massive reply 😊 🌈 @zylo
@kimmy01 not at all! I love reading, especially if its about gardening. 😊😊☺🌸🌹🍀🍁🍂🍃🌺🌷🌵🌴🌳🌲🌱🌰
@kimmy01 I grow 2 blackcurrant plants which are pretty closely related to gooseberries & will even crossbreed with them, mine have just begun to flower, & cant wait for the fruit. I have 2 redcurrants too but though they're related, they dont crossbreed. Cant wait for their red verries either 😁😁
Ohh sounds nice @zylo are they all in your garden?
@kimmy01 yup! 😊
Oh nice 😊 looking forward to all your pics @zylo 😊
