With all that shell grit down I can say for certain it's possums that ate my strawberry plant. They did it again, and it had just recovered! 😭 Physical barrier now in place.

Most likely snails... Use snail pellets around all your plants to protect

@thatleb I don't use any poisons in my garden but I thought snails or slugs, too. I've put shell grit around the plant. ☺

You need snail pellets is the best and works a treat. Up to you though. Try cracked eggshells too?

@thatleb I don't kill things, I practise non-violence, inluding against grubs. I've used crushed eggshells before, too. Both work.

Do you get possums? They're very agile.

I would think a possum was more likely than snails or slugs.

@purplebird Yeah, they eat tiny pests like aphids and scale mites, so they're very welcome in my garden 😄
