Does anyone know what these are? Seed pods or some sort of inedible fruit? I grew this from a cutting back in probably 2011/12 and it's the first time it's done this! Thanks 🌞

Hi Kyle lovely specimen well done ✅ they are the berry which does need a male in the vicinity to pollinate and produce, be aware they are poisonous as is the foliage, do take care with pets can cause sickness and high temperatures hope that helps 🤔

Hi kyle according to Wikipedia even the birds avoid this fruit, also if cross pollinated with the reddish purple flowers of the male then the fruit can get quite large on the female plant. .safe to say you seem to have the female then 😆 @kyleleonard

Thanks guys! @icedance @cazz47 I won't eat it then! I was hoping maybe they'd be seed pods but at least it adds a bit of colour to the garden! Don't have any pets and there isn't as many cats around here as there used to be in the 90s/00s.. I took the cutting from a woodland, the original was huge! I know it's frowned upon but I don't mind, at the time it was more an experiment to see what I could grow from cuttings

Ahaha yep I'd avoid putting it on your bran flakes ☹ strange how even the birds won't touch it tho isn't it! The pigeons eat our cotoneaster berries and let me just put it in a polite way, the 'evidence' usually finds its way over my car!! 😷😩
