This is my favorite cultivar of black currants: Chernaya Lisovenko. They remained white pine blister rust free when most of my ribes had it two years ago. I am trying to wait patiently to take some cuttings. Argh. Winter is just to long. Although maple syrup season is two or three months away!

@gjones I made some raspberry, black currant, blackberry. It was fantastic. I only have silver maples. I use those. I get a high sugar sap out of them. They are in a swamp location so maybe that helps.

#blackcurrant
Thinking of starting some #blackcurrant . I'll watch for updates!
@ewhayden they are very easy to grow. These are the branches I pruned a month ago. They start very easy from cuttings. I buy only ones that are immune to WPBR. We have had that in town. The city finally took out the white pine that was infected.
Thanks @laketitlow I'm definitely going to look for some.
