@dirtgirlworld @crabby58 thank you. This is my new one I just bought. I am waiting for my big one to bloom. It also is white and pink.. This one has more white than my big one. @hkyfvr. I think I should stop buying these. I have 4 of them. They are just so irresistible. Those beautiful blooms.

@yogi2. Yes I bought this at sams club. I have a big one that is pink and white as well. When it blooms it is spectacular. This one has more white blooms than my big one.

Second year with mine and still no luck with any blooms. It sits in indirect light and it never goes dry. What could I be doing wrong?

@rudester1 maybe try more light. I put mine in my carport this summer and even though I neglected watering it many times it grew more than ever due to the increased light. It’s starting to grow flower buds now

@wilkinstc thanks for the quick response. I’ll try that. For some reason I thought they’d prefer less light.

@rudester1 no problem! Just to be clear, I don’t think they like much direct sun, a few hours of morning sun would be fine but just brighter light in general should work.

@rudester1 I put mine outside in part shade in the summer. I just move it in the living room. I don't have to put it in the basement for 30 days to force it to bloom. Outside in part shade then inside and you have flowers.

Is this a Thanksgiving cactus or Christmas cactus? It is labeled Christmas cactus.

@laketitlow The difference between the three cacti is found in the shape of the leaves. The Thanksgiving cactus (Schlumgera truncata) has very pointed and claw shaped projections on the edges of the leaf. The Christmas cactus (Schlumgera bridgesti) has leaf projections which are more scalloped or tear drop shaped.

WOW that is the prettiest cactus I’ve ever seen! Did you mix the colors?

@Flicka I bought this cactus. It was not blooming when I bought it. It was a great find. I did not know it had both colors. I actually bought it at Walmart several years ago.

This is very pretty! Yours is blooming earlier than mine, which only has tiny buds on it. Did you have it outdoors in full sun or shade?

I put this outside in part sun. I think it is getting ready to bloom.

@gjones yes. It helps pass the time stuck indoors. I need to split mine, but I am not sure how to do that. Maybe just get a bigger pot.

Mine is also blooming. I have repotted mine, it just grows bigger! I have also split it in half by cutting the roots with a knife.
