Starting a small garden from scratch and rediscovering the enjoyment of plants. Any advice welcome. Lasswade, Edinburgh.
Spotted this at work today and thought it looked unusual. Can anyone tell me what it is?
Himalayas honeysuckle I think
Yes it is @brighton posh name is leycesteria (I've probably spelt that wrong) 😊
@brighton @angiecrazycatlady thanks ladies 😊👍
It has a habit of spreading like wildfire! Which in my garden has been great, and it doesn't seem to mind being hacked back when outgrowing its welcome
I have a a large area of fencing I'd like to cover quickly so it sounds like this should do the trick. Good advice, thanks @mrsmiddleton 😊
It'll certainly do that. Tricky to train, grab it and tease it- but boy does it grow fast and strong!
@mrsmiddleton Gail, does this like shade? 🤔😀
It seems to be fine on the sunny side of my garden and also on the semi shaded side- I would guess it'd be fine!
