Found a huge caterpillar on my tomato plant as big as my pointer finger. Can anyone identify it or tell me if I should remove it?

Yes remove it! That'll eat your whole plant

It's a Hornworm moth. They eat A LOT. I brought 1 inside as a pet/science project. Was feeding it my leaf trimmings, I had to start getting other people to save their tomato and pepper trimmings cause it ate more then my garden could produce. Give it a shot! Put it in a tuber ware and feed it tomato or pepper leaves, you'll see exactly how much damage they can cause

And that "horn" on its butt, it's not harmful, just a decoy.
