6/6/2019 My #venusflytrap caught a meal!
@gardengirlla I'm loving mine! Only thing is how I have to keep it outside so it can have all of the Sun.
@gardengirlla I've had it since early December. I ordered this one from Etsy but I've used Sarracenia Northwest for my carnivorous plant needs since then. This one arrived with black traps but it turns out it was resting for the Winter. I just kept watering and trimming the black traps and hoped it would look nice when the weather warmed up and it did! (Just as a warning in case yours doesn't arrive looking healthy.)
@gardengirlla Yeah. I'm a bit impulsive sometimes and ordered the plant without thinking during the start of winter. But I'm glad it's doing so well now!

6/2/2019 Did you know #venus-fly-traps can flower?! I didn't. I was gone for a week and returned to this. Google tells me I should have cut the flower before it blossomed but now I just have to hope the plant survives. And I may be able to transplant the flower. Time will tell!
Wow i didn't knew this, very beautiful flower, thanks for sharing

5/10/2019 I'm so happy my little #venusflytrap is doing so much better with the warmer weather (not counting today's cooler temperatures).

4/19/2019 I was worried I had killed my #venusflytrap but kept it outside for the freezing weather like I was instructed to. The water in its tray even became ice at one point but for less than 24 hours. Anyway, it's exciting to see it coming back with the warmer weather! It looked a bit rough since I had received it with all of the traps already black.

12/22/2018 I decided to cut off the blackened traps on my Venus Fly Trap on Saturday. Makes her look much healthier. I think she's recovering nicely, though slowly. We'll see how she is when I get back to town in just under a week. #carnivorous-plants #venusflytrap-dente

12/15/2018 The #venusflytrap-dente is looking a bit worse for ware but I'm hoping it's still adjusting since I've read they need a few weeks to adjust. I'm posting more to keep track of its progress.

12/8/2018 This arrived on Monday. I'm hoping the black traps are from the trauma of the shipping. It seemed to be in peat moss only so I re-potted it with a perlite and peat moss for added drainage. We'll see how it looks in a month or so. #venusflytrap-dente
8/9/2020 Here's a photo of my very first #venus-fly-trap that's almost two years old! It was doing really great until late Spring when the jerk birds decided to almost destroy it and my other #carnivorous-plants to, I'm assuming, get to the bugs within their traps. It's slowly coming back. But I've had to put it in an enclosed netted area after the second attempt by the birds a month or so ago.
