Anyone have any idea why they're turning a bit yellow at the ends? I've got them in a sunny position, I'll try moving them to the shade. Don't think that's it though.๐๐ฆ๐ข

@pixierose this was when the ends started going funny, I should've done something then before it got as bad as it did.๐ #trialanderror

Will these survive outside now? I planted them end of summer last year, N/E Scotland๐ any tips/advice welcome, don't want to ruin them now Monkey puzzle trees

You should put them outside through the day and bring them in at night, to harden them off. Then after a couple of weeks they should be OK outside, maybe in a sheltered spot for a while. Just keep an extra eye on them. If it's bad weather, treat accordingly.

Thanks, I've been putting them out all day n bringing them in at night for weeks, we've had some unusual great weather the past while. I'll leave them out n see how they get on๐

Did u buy seeds ?

@care3 Yes I bought them off eBay believe it or not, they've actually grew a little bit since that photo, I'll post one later. I've never used feed or anything, I just plant n hope for the best.๐

Cheers @Leno good to talk
Two of these I grew from seed, the tops were yellow, brown and black. I've snipped a good inch off and planted them in the ground as they looked like they were dying so hopefully Mother Earth will save them. #monkeypuzzle
Aww, so cute, I hope they survive ๐๐
@pelly I tried snipping the bad bits off last year but same happened, it should be 3-4 inches taller, I'll have nothing left if I snip anymore๐
I really haven't got a clue about them, but might it be worth potting one up to see if there's any difference in growth? ๐ค๐ค
I'll just leave them alone๐ probably the best idea, I've been a bit snip happy the past few days but ive had a few winter casualties @pelly
I just got curious about these and found something on YouTube about them and this looks too small to be in the ground according to what it says. Definitely worth a look Leno, Google it . ๐๐
Add 4 inches on๐ @pelly
I'll have a look @pelly
@Leno well done for growing from seed. This is the cutest Monkey Puzzle tree Iโve ever seen. So teeny tiny but destined to grow into a giant.
๐ well I had to resort to chopping bits off because they were dying, it's taken ages to grow them to that size๐ #patienceisavirtue @pixierose
