Gardening on a small plot with an oak tree in one corner and trying to encourage more wildlife. Love visiting gardens and buying plants too!

#advice This is a #nobloomer rather than a #latebloomer but it's looking a lot healthier than last year. Aiming for a flower next year so over winter should I leave it outside, put it in my mini cold frame or bring it in to the conservatory? 🤔

Mine are outside, we have frosts in winter, I think they don’t like wet though

Mine was happy in a pot not so happy in the border - I used to have it by the front door - so I would put it somewhere sheltered

Thanks ladies, it was rescued from the ground and had about two leaves when I potted it up, so I'm trying to make sure I don't kill it over winter! @Cyndi @joanboston @sharonhayden

It will be fine outside in a sheltered spot Sue , they don’t like wet feet so don’t put a saucer under 👍🏻

I'm glad you asked that question Sue, I was wondering what I should do with mine. Now I know. Hopefully yours will bloom next year. Mine was fully flowered before summer I think, it came in the first lockdown. I got a second flush with it too, which I didn't expect. 💕💕

This little plant seems to be doing ok in partial shade 💕. Hope the rain hasn't damaged your gardens too much. Enjoy your day. 🌸🌸🌸

Pretty pretty 🌸 More the wind here! 🌪💨😏 Got a tip from a nursery yesterday about Lewisia...plant them on a tilt so that the rain doesn’t collect in and underneath them! I’ll have to replant mine as the leaves underneath tend to go mushy!

@rachelbrooks ooh love that tip! 👍🏼 Will have to repot mine! My lower leaves don't look great either.

Morning, that’s so pretty. It’s been the wind here too Rach @rachelbrooks and Sue, it’s ruined some of my hanging baskets and planters and even knocked some plant supports out 🤬Great #tip by the way, I’ll re-do mine as well 👍

Thanks for the tip Rachel - think I've done that by accident as the bed is slightly sloping 😀😀. Luckily no damage here at all - we tend to escape the worst of the weather in Hampshire. @rachelbrooks

Thanks Jane, so sorry that the wind has damaged your plants, must be soul destroying after all your hard work. Hope you manage to salvage some things. @pelly

I can’t bear the wind Jane, so drying and destructive! It’s knackered my baskets as well! 😢 @pelly

Brill! 👍🏼 Lucky you! We don’t get it too badly to be fair, but one side of my garden is like a wind tunnel. Can be very testing at times!
