i know topdressing isn't recommended for succulents but agghh it looks so pretty! is this a terrible sin? should i remove it immediately? i have a wooden stick in the soil that i use to check moisture. #advice please!

I don't think topdressing does any harm to them, at least none that I've read. I do top dressing on mine too. It actually helps with the watering imo. And it prevents gnats infestation too! @lissoms

I've heard haworthia kind of need a top dressing to have a barrier between the plant and the soil. I think it's fine. Plus, it looks so good!
