New #shrub ready for planting - #bareroot
You have lots of lovely plants to plant when the time is right 👍 I've got quite a collection now to go in my cleared borders. Can't wait. When are you hoping to put them in?
@susanhumphrey333 I'm not too sure..🤔 was hoping to do it this week but the ground froze and I'm starting to wonder if I should pot then up and put them in early spring? Any thoughts?
I thought it was best to pot them up and wait until early spring but then some of the pots froze solid even being in the shed and protected with bubble wrap. Others were in sheltered spots and they froze too. I have had a nightmare bringing them in cool rooms to thaw them out and then putting them back outside when it's warmed up. So I'm a bit confused now 😬
@susanhumphrey333 did some research and it suggests we should be planting bare roots shrubs now but not when ground is frozen 😬, see https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=237
Thanks for the info. It's hard to know what to do for the best sometimes 😳
