The birdnest fern has interesting foliage markings. On the left is a new leaf/on the right is an mature leaf. #birdnestfern #foliage #fern

Mine doesn't have its leaves with those dark markings

@lovestogarden very interesting!! I have one and never looked at it that close!! Now I will!ππ

Let me know Shelley. I am wondering if it is normal, now, since @mardel 's does not have it. π€ @ShelleySnyder

@lovestogarden oh dear I will look!!!π

@lovestogarden. Houston we have NO problem!!! All mine look like yours and theres nothing wrong with it!! I never looked at the back side before!!πππππΏπΏπΏ

Phew! π° Shelley I only looked at them today because I was sitting outside trying to cool off and started weeding around it. π @ShelleySnyder

Lots of new growth.

So lush and tropicalπ

I have mine in a pot indoors and have no idea how to take care of it or how often to water.. Any tips?

Well, Maribel, I just saw your new one and it is lovely. I know this likes moisture and leaves do burn if the sun is too hot. Spring is it's growing season, I fertilize it when I think to and it takes a lot of torture from me. π. That is all I can tell you. Hope this helps. @mardel

@lovestogarden Thanks I just got it so hopefully I keep it looking this way, great tips thanks love

This poor #birdsnestfern if filling up with all the #seeds dropping from my neighbor's #palmtree. It looks like thousands have fallen and so very many more yet to drop. π She is a good sport, as this is not her first filling. π #aspleniumnidus #fern #southerncalifornia #california 10 October 2018
πππ...and over and over again, @Cyndi! I have these palm trees invading my garden all the time. They grow very easily. β€οΈ
I loved my birds nest fern but I lost it last year. Might give it another try.
@mardel, they are pretty, hut mine always looks rather beaten up. I think it gets too much sun and the seeds don't help. πβ€οΈ
