... the seed pod will keep getting longer and will eventually turn brown when it dries. . If it is left alone, it will POP open, as this one did and throw it's seed out. The trick is the harvest the seeds after turned brown and before they POP. To do this so they do not POP as you touch them, use your whole hand to grasp the pod and put them deep into a bag before you open your hand. #california #californianpoppy #seedpod #poppy #advice-Californiapoppy

Got Ya! The one I have is the orange as shown..which 2 is all that I saw out of my wildflowers that made it and 1 only got 2 blooms on it. There's one in the bed with a few other little plants and seeds that really looked good enough to keep for the rest of the season😍

So Chris, @Acetaker , as you requested, here is how to collect #California #poppies . When your plants are past their prime looking ugly with dead growth on them, you will see lots of seed pods.... #seedpods
