My Southern California (zone 10a) garden has all kinds of plants mixed together; roses, ferns, succulents, vegetables,....

Giant leaves on the #nasturtium that #reseeded. The leaves are tall and cover the flowers completely. #southerncalifornia #california 26 February 2019

This is beautiful! What kind of soil is it growing in?

7w

@jennlamaye they are growing in my clay ground soil that I have supplemented over the years with goodness. These are a hardy plant here and self-seed every year.

@lovestogarden they're so beautiful I thought they might be tricky. I'd love seeds to try. :)

I havent had luck with these plants. When do you plant them @lovestogarden? I think we both are in the same zone.

@mi_paraiso I am sorry you have had no luck with these. I hate to tell you that years ago I planted a package of a common blend of these seeds because they covered the ground. They self seed and come up every year. I do know they like afternoon shade and a bit of moisture.

Woke up on the funny side of the bed or is it lack of sleep that gets you going? Glad I had my sound off as my hubby is sleeping and although he likes wildlife sounds, he is not pleasant when woken up early, unnecessarily! Had to muffle my laughing before I woke him up! 😉🤗

How do you get them to grow so big I had one flower on the seeds I planted last year and then they quickly died

8w
comment
lovestogarden

Judy, maybe it is neglect! I planted seeds years ago as a cheap ground cover and they just keep reseeding. If I really wanted them to, of course, they would die out. 😏 @ripjuju
