Day 25: New Growth. I could be wrong, but that little pink thing kind of resembles what might be a new leaf growing on my #thanksgiving-cactus. I’m not sure how their leaves grow though. I’m still gonna roll with it and call it my “New Growth” for today though because I find it adorable 😍 #letsgrowin2020 #newleaf #schlumbergera-truncata #justrollwithit #succulove
It’s definitely new growth 😛 mine is doing the same but not a single flower bud, unlike yours 😍
@kez001uk Oh yay! My sister actually told me this trick that if you keep it in the dark (she said closet but...) such as a bathroom or somewhere that is a relatively no light place for a while then bring it back into the sunshine it is supposed to bloom again! So I’m trying that and it seems to be making buds. No flowers yet but lots of buds anyway.
@madnessbroken thank you for the tip, I’m going to give that a try 😋 had it for well over a year and only time it flowered was when I bought it 😂 terrible with houseplants 🙈 I looked back through your photos of this and it’s done great in such a short time 💚
@kez001uk hey thanks! I try really hard haha I’m mostly only best with true succulents so anything out of that is touch and go with me too.
@madnessbroken you’re a plant whisperer in my view! To be able to keep a succulent alive is much harder work than regular plants 😜
@kez001uk haha aw well thank you!
@madnessbroken 😁
I agree with Kerry @kez001uk keeping succulents alive and healthy is an art. One I haven't developed, tho my zygocactus are doing well. I dont put them in a dark room, they do what they do. These aren't really a cactus and do require a bit more water than a cactus
@lesliecole49 thank you! It just takes practice. I’m no expert though with succulents. I still kill my fair share unfortunately lol 😊 I’m still practicing with regular houseplants myself. My zygocactus have been a challenge but I’m learning with them because you’re right, they are different then regular cacti. You can’t just set and forget them, they need more love than that.
