Will this flower again this year - i know almost nothing at all about plants

Hi @marshy , could this be a type of Oleander? As Daniel says, might need some more details on the flowers it already produced, and roughly what time of year it flowered before. Hopefully that will give us some more clues 😀

Looks like a phoenix canariensis, should be ok in a sheltered spot.
