Here he is! The Purple Emperor 😊😊💜💜He's growing nicely but he'll be to his full royal size in just a while. #purpleemperor

He's not looking as proud as he did some days ago and as I haven't much experience in Lupins; does this usually happen? Could be a silly question as flowers don't last forever. I was in two minds wether to chop it off, but I didn't like to as the top of the flower is good. What's the done thing anyone? @jeatacake @pelly 😊😊

Unfortunately the flowers don't last too long, dying off from bottom to top. You could strip off the dead flowers to leave the ones higher up to open. Alternatively you can leave the dead flowers on to form seed pods, but once the top flowers have finished, that's it if there are no new flowers appearing. If you do stop any seeds forming, you might just get the odd new flower later in the summer if you're lucky.

I don't have much luck with them either Christine, so I don't feel qualified to answer your question. Mine are still tiny little plants by the way 😞🤔
