Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't garlic need a long cold spell to make the clove split into the new multi clove bulb? I thought you needed to plant them in Autumn to be 'over wintered'?

That's what I've read. But I bought a few cloves from a garden centre, which said to sow in April, which I did.

Perhaps living in Glasgow is a permanent cold spell.

Keep us updated on their progress! I'm I interested to see how they compare to Autumn sown ones!
