Gardening is like cooking. To improve, you need to be willing to make mistakes and experiment. Also, common names are garbage. Zone 9b, West Sac, CA.

Today I was hired by a garden center that's about 18 minutes away from home. I had sent them my resume a few days ago but I hadn't received a reply. I thought I'd pop in to check the place out and follow up. I asked an associate if the hiring manager were around.

She left and came back with the owner. She seemed nice. I gave her a brief summary of my hort background and she asked me when I could start. Apparently, she had received my resume but they've been too busy to get back to me. She told me that she was even trying to hire customers. I guess she wasn't exactly bowled away by my outstanding qualifications.

I wonder if my sister will regret giving this to me now that it's decided to flower for the first time. I can always use the change in climate--from the cool Bay Area to sunnier, warmer Sacramento--as a believable reason.

ID help, s'il vous please. I visited my sister in the Bay Area yesterday. We wore face masks and "hugged" back-to-back. And she gave me this weirdo, whom I've admired for a while. For some reason, she doesn't find this #succulent particularly appealing. 31Mar2020 PlantID
