Morning all! 😃 Well the sun is out and the garden looks happier after 3 days of lovely lovely rain! 💦☔️💦 It's safe to say I haven't been able to do many client gardens so far this week so I have to cram a lot in today as I'm off to RHS Wisley tomorrow! 😬😬😬😬 Have a fab day everyone. #crocosmia #montbretia #raindrops #orange #orangeflowers #throwbackthursday

Do u trim off the spent stems or do they need to stay on for new growth? Newbie on these 😍

Hi @Acetaker I think some crocosmia are sterile but some do grow from the seeds they produce so if you want to limit there spread take off the flower stem and leave the leaves. They generally spread via their corms so if you want more then divide the clump in early spring. Many people leave the flower stalks on for winter interest as the seed heads are quite architectural. 👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks @mrsflowerpot I have them in a old fire pit right now and going to move them in Fall or b4 to a raised bed. So I'll leave the stems on and see how they look later on. Do they rebloom from area the blooms were at(I hope that made sense)😍

Oh lovely @Acetaker no once they've bloomed they don't tend to rebloom. It made perfect sense 👍🏻
