I have similar damage to this on some of my salvias and have observed tiny grasshoppers. I've sprayed with a few different controls and not having a lot of success. @MTurner

Exactly @leisel!! I've used pest oil etc and nothings working :(

My problem is I have so many wild birds but they want eat the bugs, rather have ox heart.... lol @MTurner

My new plant. Looking forward to seeing the long slender sprays of white flowers in autumn.
