I do actually have a rose in my garden, but it’s stuck behind a massive hedge and seems to consist of 2 spindly branches with holly growing between them. Do I cut it back and try and dig it up/relocate once it’s flowered? 🤔

It has quite a few buds, considering it looks so pathetic...and it’s very pretty. Just in such an awkward spot that I’m not sure I’ll even be able to get it out! @anges

Are the buds red before they open? It looks like the rambling rose #albertine to me. 🌸🌸🌸

@anges yes! You can just see one in the background. Is that why it’s so leggy, rather than shrubby? I’ve cut it back before, but it hasn’t improved the shape - I assumed it was the dodgy location!

Yes it's a rambler. I've bought one of these last year and it's about to start flowering- quite a few red buds - that's how I recognised it 😉☺

@anges Hmm, maybe I’ll try and find a spot for it near a fence then...if I don’t kill it trying to dig it out! 🤞🏻This could be my experiment before I make a real commitment to roses @dan5584 🤣

Oh yes!! I knew you’d have one somewhere 😂😂 wait until winter to move it out, will be easier with the softer ground too!

I did wonder whether I should wait...I’m just an impatient person, especially when I get an idea in my head! 😂 I also have that rambling rose out front, but I don’t take any credit for that one either. A lovely friend did give me a little patio rose last month, and I’ve kept it alive so far! Baby steps in my rose journey... 🌹😉 @dan5584
