Giving up on #race due to unexpected results so far... I'm declaring the dirt strawberries winners, guess you can't beat the good ole ☀️ sun... The out door plants are so much stronger and longer stems... The hydro berries are doing good, but not as well... Now my lettuce on the other hand is beautiful, I think the strawberries want more light than I can provide in a artificial environment, so I will try later with another type of plant... Was a good and educational lesson... Maybe I'll try one
(cont.) That doesn't require full sun light, I think that is why, BECAUSE strawberries love sun...

#race - the two biggest strawberry plants inside and out. At the end of 3 weeks and marks the beginning of the 4th, Hydroponics has led the way, but last week the dirt plants had thier most significant growth. #hydroponics

One of my strongest strawberries... Looking good!!! 2 weeks old!
Very good, the hydroponics king!🤗
Wow! That looks so healthy!

Looks like stuff is going good... This little hydro strawberry had 3 flower buds... I snipped em... 2 weeks and 3 flower buds on 2 plants, and 3 plants with 1 or 2 flower buds
👌
@blasome starts as flower buds then berry... Even thou strawberries are fruit not berry... I trim the first flowers so a plant isn't wasting energy trying to grow fruit but get bigger, From what I heard about the lights, it's ok, but not perfect, I have high power floods that blast the entire environment full of light so I'm sure there is enough... Going on wk3 and still alive so yea they work... The outter edge plants aren't growing as rapid I have noticed, but still moving along...
(cont) @blasome two weeks old trying to bud... So I snipped em...
@myk3 oh I see !!! The steps that you take for Growing foods hydro. Are all of them this process snipping the buds first to focus on growing?
@blasome yes

The two biggest of ground and hydro.. hands down no comparison.. the biggest dirt strawberry plant is as big as the smallest hydro plant... This is after 2 weeks
@purplebird your comparison shot... Not a fair race...
Yes you are right, big win for hydroponics! Great job redoing system and tracking down the previous problems!🤗
@purplebird yes but may still have some issues but not sure yet... I'm seeing a few potential issues but not detrimental just things to be improved, I don't think I'm going to rebuild this system again, next clean out I'm gonna redesign (a year) I have an idea that I can squeeze 2 more rows of plants in the same space... So maybe...

#hydroponics - I have decided to take a little break from posting updates, if you want me to tag you and the next update in a couple weeks please comment!! Or keep you eyes peeled!!! I want to give them some time, they are looking so wonderful! If anything Sprouts in my germinator I will let you know but I am going to put strawberries on the back burner for now...
(+cont) I also want to work on getting my cloner prepared, and spring fever is almost here and lots going to pop up all at once!! Plans for a greenhouse in my future are moving from dream status to idea table on what I can do to achieve this goal reasonably soon!!
(+cont) I'll keep you updated on the greenhouse prospected developments as well!! Dreams hopefully do come true!!
That's great news about your green house!
Nice real nice set up !!!
@blasome thx! still learning, not extremely easy, but now I fully understand plants and all their growth Cycles... Also have learned to how induce flowering and production of fruit... and bigger more healthy plants... I'm hoping this run will be successful cause I haven't been yet...
Would like if you tag me in on your updates please
@blasome I was only doing that for my next update but I will for sure.... Mainly because I wasn't going to post for a little while until the plants mature a little... Who knows I'm probably too excited to keep it to myself
Love the work your doing please tag me as well...I have aspirations to get into a hydro and eventually aquaponic set up... I am sure I can learn and hopefully avoid potential problems that you have already had to overcome... Keep it up bro and thanks for that insites...
@dfresh1433 I will on my next update! I would love an Aquaponics setup, I have an aquarium in my house and I've seen the fish/Aquaponics setups, and I don't think I'm ready to do that yet, but there are different styles(+cont)
I would love to grow fish also, but maybe after I get my greenhouse I will dedicate a part of it to starting that... I'm hoping this setup works for a while, but I realize my design has some flaws and my next build will be so much more awesome! Learning in this area takes time, and it's a huge bummer to learn the hard way cause progress gets delayed months!! ( Cont)
But this system and setup is what I'm learning... If u Haven seen my video I will post the links... I will make a new video later... Why not?

Leaves, tubes, wires, wood, nails, fluids, electronics, vitamins, pumps, measurement analysis tools, grow medium, fans... Wow a controlled environment to observe and witness another form of living breathing life.... If anyone is interested I'd be willing to share ideas...
Thinking about designing a mason jar Hydroponics starter, for grasping basic understanding for hydro beginners looking into a small educational project kit, I'm talking micro scale, 1 plant, 100% transparent to see the workings!
Yummmm😋 i love strawberries..😍
Starter kit sounds like a good idea. Would you then sell them? Get it ( my brain went blank, copy righted for inventions, can't think of right word)🤗
Yea, I'd incorporate everything I have learned for a reasonable price ($25 ?? Maybe) and a set of instructions... I'm sure I'm not perfect or doing this on a scientific scale, but as long as it works and enables others to grasp and want to learn more! @purplebird

Oh so beautiful.... Deploying leaves all over.... I have learned that the correct vitamins have spoken... No way my first plants had this much activity in months!!! And It's only been 2 days (officially day 3 is today and counting)
@purplebird it's up and running!!
That plant looks extremely healthy... Bright green leaves... Even the redish color on the stems...
Imagine that.... No dirt.... Hence the hydro in #hydroponics
Welcome to growing hydroponics!! 🤗 Beautiful strawberry. Can't believe you got that much growth in going on 3 days! Fantastic 👍👍👏👏💃💃💃 happy dance.

Had to post another, difference is highly visible... #hydroponics
No more for a little while... I'm just a little psyched today
They like their new nutrients! 🤗

Oh boy!!!!! Left-yesterday, right-today.... I'm very hopeful, noticeable growth after 1 day... New leaves already!!!! I had to share, Amazing!!!!!!! #hydroponics
Call it jumping the gun, but.... When I saw it I did a double take... Cause I specifically picked this plant to watch... And wouldn't you know!!!
Your chemicals where worth the 400 mile drive then
@Hellebore I was worried I put the wrong amount.. because the dillution chart starts at 1000 gallons of water... But looks like I'm a math wiz
💃💃💃💃 doing the happy dance!🤗

My competition... I put some strawberries in the dirt.. see if traditional growing wins or if my hydro wins!
It be interesting to see which does better keep us updated
@carolgs I will!!
Oooh, Interesting!
Lol plant racing....
Of course you will, you have done your homework. And that dirt needs compost, doesn't look very rich. Be fair now.😉😉🤗
Haven't been able to watch updates yet. Did you germinate the strawberries all together or did you plant seed in the soil for traditional growing? 🤔
You can see blue crystals... I dug 3 feet down and turned the dirt... I was gonna add a few bags of peralite, but for now I'm adding nutrients... They are growing but I'm thinking my next update will show a comparison of the two racing... @purplebird
@purplebird no I didn't germinate these plants, I got plugs from Walmart and Amazon... Figured it would be easier than waiting 3 cycles for berries!! Eventually I will start strawberries from seed... But not this time
Oh I see the crystals now! Ok that's fair. 😉😁

14 strawberries #hydroponics
Running dripper setup
Is it hydroponics
@amethystbeauty23 yes it is there are a few different methods for #hydroponics NFT, Aquaponics, ebb & flow, and dripper. I started with NFT but switched to dripper... It's very interesting stuff
Thank you how to you start hydroponics
@amethystbeauty23 check my video https://youtu.be/Ax1gIDdaGSg
Thank you so much
@amethystbeauty23 check this video and subscribe to his channel, he is very informative and very likeable voice in his videos. https://youtu.be/_lXWDF-C3B0
How do you start hydroponicsbecause for beginners
@amethystbeauty23 it's very advanced I'd suggest doing alot of research prior, and $1000 minimum investment... Order a kit or build one urself, there is a lot to learn, I'd suggest buying a book... I have failed for 8 months strait, and hoping now I got it... Time will tell
Thank me and my dad want to do hydroponic
Mike, is my math wrong. Before you said 23 plants. Now you said 8 on the mini and 14 strawberry. Is that not 22 plants? Did you lose one?🤔
Looking good!!!
They will be lovely with some cream
I would like to try growing some.
@ripjuju it's not too complicated
