With the meter stick reading in at about 19 inches, it's a beautiful lettuce plant... Enough for 8 people to eat a full salad meal!
Not so little gem 😄
Getting ready to set seed may be bitter now. need to pick leaves early and often
@moore.794 I have a bunch of these.. I pick the others... I let this one grow for seeds
And because I never seen a lettuce flower?!
@purplebird almost 2ft !!!!
Wow 🤗 Mom never let ours get that tall because we ate it so fast. But I know you are leaving that one to see how tall it gets.
@purplebird yep... I wanna see how big

Almost ready!!!
Wow yummy, look at the light absorbsion, @myk3 hydro king!
Check it my last #video update!! https://youtu.be/c4PvFvoIhHs
Nice grows. Im a beginner grower. No hydro but love the concept just dont have the time and money. Will definitely follow your growing
@bryder I will tag u in another post by me... I built a mini Hydroponic unit... It was relatively cheap... The Vitamins are the costly part
Also.. @bryder you can check out my YouTube channel... https://www.youtube.com/user/Myk3916 click on videos and you can see all my past recordings...

Quick update, been busy busy busy, everything is growing great! I had to make a few changes and I removed a few strawberry plants (gave them away) cause I needed more room for other plants... My lettuce should be full grown very soon!! Also news about the race soon!!!

https://youtu.be/u_TOuuQ5nng new dirt/dro (what I'm calling it) #video update, the grand tour... Focus primarily on new seedling sprouts and my setup...
@purplebird @blasome @dfresh1433 update! - if u want to be tagged or untagged comment below and say TAG ME!! I usually only tag on videos or what I feel to be critical in my education of Hydroponics..
That's nice! #lettuce
Waiting for seedlings to get bigger then I will spread em out... And eventually harden them to sunlinght and in the ground at my dad's garden...
Tag me, sounds good 🤗
@myk3 TAG ME!!!🌱
@Susanandsteve if u want I can tag u in my video updates... I do videos from time to time on my YouTube channel... I tag those who want me to, when I post them...
Yes tag me that would be great!

Oh man... Lots of lettuce!! I think everyone germinated....

Rockwool sprouts in 2 days, lettuce... By the way I wanted to mention, I got a whole bunch of work done on the time lapse camera and it works, just having a couple issues nothing major, and we will have time lapse video coming right up!!! The great part is that it is on my PcDuino demo board, so it's relatively low cost and low energy consumption.
I will be picking out singles later of the lettuce...

Lettuce is growing!!!!! Getting big!!
What are you growing them in it looks fantastic 😃
@greenhouse it's #hydroponics ...No dirt, only water and vitamins... Check my profile, everything except for the strawberries in the dirt in my front yard is hydroponic, right now the strawberries are racing... Hydroponics vs. dirt
@greenhouse check my video https://youtu.be/kSue2_ueMls that one isn't my most recent, but cause I had flowering at 2wks thought u may dig it!!

Trying again... Vitamins/fertilizer will arrive Monday... 10 plants... Germination has begun (for documenting purposes) wish I knew #hydroponics was a huge learning experience... I didn't like my old germination station so I built a new one...
Isn't that hydroponics to
@amethystbeauty23 no, that's my germination chamber
Sorry what is that
@amethystbeauty23 a heated greenhouse for starting seeds
Thank you
🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🤗
Looks nice, what is difference, why better?
@purplebird idk if u have one of the jiffy types or anything like I used to have... Well the reason... It was very flexible and seemed flimsy... I wanted a durable and sturdy structure for starting my plants... I need to add a vent on this so I can open and close... Closing is the big issue for warmth... Opening them when they sprout is good for seedlings to get a co2 oxygen mix occasionally, and your supposed to harden them to room air before removing them from the germinator

#hydroponics sad day... Plants are turning white, never seen anything like it... Plants might not survive, I think the problem is they are not rooting, I am unsure, but I will be taking a trip to my local hydro store and asking questions...
The roots are very short, not even an inch, and the plants were getting to almost 3in and some were working on 6-8 leaves, they were fine til now... Might be doing a restart on lettuce...
If anyone knows about hydroponic #roots let me know
Your way, way, over feeding 🤔 so sorry to break it to you that way 😳 your mix is wrong I'm afraid...
What are you using?
Npk 15-15-15
And I'm using about 1/2 the recommended amount... In a total system I'm using maybe 4-5 tsp
The roots I think is the issue...

Update: plants are still growin... i wanted to mention, im going to be setting up my raspberry pi board and adding a camera for 1 of 2 pourposes, either live stream 24/7 of my hydroponic setup (so i can monitor remotely, or share the joys) OR setting up a time lapse circut and setting a 30day timer to automatically post a timelapse video on its own setup account... not sure which way to go, or.. i could add sensors and automate or remote control my hydro system.... choices choices...
Also, going to buy strawberry plugs tommarrow... wanting to get my verticle hanging setup up and running
Oh my the things you can do today with technology. Technology can be wonderful if use for good and watching out for side effects. You are way over my head. I play in the soil, I like the feel of it and the sun on my back. But what you are learning has many uses and it is good that you are interested in learning it. I like watching.🤗

Day 12 lettuce, is it just me or does it seem like they grow fast but days are longer when you are waiting, specially if you are hungry and waiting to eat them lol jkjk. I want to track progress for each item im growing in #hydroponics cause im going to grow outdoor soon and want competition between plants.
(Day 12 from germination and first sign of sprout)
I noticed also the color change, possibly from new growth, but also when i added water the ph spiked to 8, and i was busy thru the day and realized i should check, and i dropped it back to 6... i know it was a shock to the plants because a strawberry plant fell over, but picked itself up a few hours later, i was amazed when i saw that... lmao!
Wow!

10 days with different lights the evidence is obvious, the red and blue grows bigger longer, lengthy plants... the full spectrum grows faster!! So i think ill mix both types of light in the future... check the pics, i have 20 plants all the same seed, and the ressults are obvious on both sides of the #hydro system. Will see what hapens again at harvest time.
Tip for us watching, the very bottom of the photos (site problem on everyone's photos) is dark. So try not to put important things in bottom "fringe" of photos.🤗 Plus you get the season writing over it too!
I know I actually wrote the developers and suggested that they add the ability to zoom and change a couple features regarding viewing images
Comment : I learned with succulent care that longer stretched out plants is a sign of not enough light. Is this what you are meaning or are you saying purple light= bigger growth, full spectrum = faster growth ? I am never good at seeing the obvious anymore brain has slowed down with health problems.🤗
I actually had no knowledge of this so you are actually helping me learn this may be true with the different types of light being used
And if you actually look at my most recent picture I actually moved the lights a lot closer to the plants... as compared to one of my first images posted... like I said I'm learning
And about what I had said I wasn't saying anything specific I was just saying what I was observing by using different types of light
Ok, good to journal observations but good to put what u think it might mean too. OK if wrong can update conclusions as more is learned. These not final conclusions, just letting us know what is in your mind. I am sure your complete notes are elsewhere but nice to follow what you are getting from your observations. You have done this on other posts. Just making observation of my own. 🤗
Good to write to ask about site updating photo features. I know most of us would like zoom for one.🤗
That is so cool
