@mrsflowerpot thank you big time - covid or no covid I could kiss you right now! It’s been driving me bonkers!!!!!! 😘😘😘😘😘😘😘 I New @Hellebore took an amazing shot of one a wee while ago - I was just looking at her plant list to find it. ( still an amazing shot Liz - it stuck with me - did you ever get your seeds going must be a few years ago now? I’ve got thousands if you want any from this one 😁
Hey Naomi - Echium does begin with E and it can have purple/blue flowers, but i don’t think the plant in your picture is the same thing. I’ve never seen a branched flower head on an Echium, usually they have just a single flower spike. Did it have yellow or white flowers perhaps? This looks much more like a Verbascum flower head like Aly suggested (and which can also be branched) but maybe I’ve missed something from your photo that others have seen? 🤔 @thehardygardener @mrsflowerpot
@richard.spicer.7906 I think you are right 🕵️♂️ Looking at the leaves it does look like Verbascum. Although I was going on the size and Naomi description of purple flowers??

It's an unusual shape, but it couldn't be a Monkey Puzzle tree could it. I know you said begins with E, shot in the dark really 🤔
