I was pretty worried about this one but now that it’s defrosted the leaves don’t have that gross “was frozen” feeling so I’m gonna try to calm down.

Oh shoot @KelsiBriana I meant to get back to you yesterday! I haven’t tried tarps on my succs yet. It would probably work though. Everything under my patio wasn’t frost covered so I think just covering them would prevent this in the future.

This is a great plant !! Maybe I ask ? Where did you buy it from ? Here in California I haven't seen it anywhere.

@sherrisgarden I got it on Facebook marketplace from a lady in California of all places I believe! She also has an Etsy. I believe she still has some available. I will go look for the shop name and get back to you.

@sherrisgarden I believe it was Kitchycrafter or succulentsdepot on Etsy. Her shop is closed right now because she is taking a short break, probably for the holidays. She has great plants. I highly recommend her.

Yep, closing up. How neat. I should have taken a picture every day 😓 Going to try to be sparing with water this summer. It’s only the second summer I’ve grown greenovias and I’m SHOCKED I haven’t killed any yet. #greenovia

I’ve wanted one of these for a while! Does it open and close like regular flowers?

@ecoami They go dormant in the summer and close up in an effort to conserve water. Outer leaves dry up and they do look like roses. In the winter when they actively grow they open up and look more succulent like, some kind of ugly, but depending on the kind some look more camellia like.

Came as greenovia aurea. Gonna leave it unidentified though because ??????? Lol. At very least I know it’s a greenovia. About 4-5x the size as my smaller pink and green ones, can’t really tell because those are open and this one looks like it’s transitioning into dormancy. Or is it? Lol #greenovia #greenovia-aurea #succulent
