2/12/17 cresty mom possibly reverting but I hope not. Got real damaged over the summer, the pups were growing like crazy and I wasn’t seeing any new growth in the original head. I had chopped off the biggest babies, hoping it would grow, but it didn’t help all that much because there were small babies left on, taking up energy. Small babies got rather large so I cut them and as many viable small babies as I could and it’s FINALLY putting out new growth up top. Babies around the base are about to
get gone too, they are just sapping everything from this plant.

Did Science go too far this time? Crested Neon Breakers with fluorescent glow sand and fluoride pebble top dressing. #topdressing #succulent
Where do you purchase all of your top dressing from @ohhyouknow
@taylork The same place Timmy Turner gets all his neat stuff. “The Interneeet.” For real though, random eBay shops. I search for random keywords like “rough agate” etc, sort by lowest price, and put 20c bids on a bunch of listings that have free shipping. The sand is actually like a dollar for 10 grams. Cheapest place I found that was Amazon in bulk for like 100 g for 9-10bucks. I got this sand on EBay for like 70 cents, but if I get more I’ll just go to Amazon bc it’d be easier.
@ohhyouknow I swear I thought that this was photo shopped! 😂 I was like "well I guess she just doesn't want people to see what the soil looks like." Lmao I did see this on amazon too though! I didn't know how good it would be for the succulents? Like aren't some elements bad for succulents?
@taylork The sand glows so bright! I have some blue glow sand that I'm saving for idk what yet. The description said it can be used in aquariums and swimming pools and that it's not water soluble so I hope the description was accurate for my plants sake!

More from “the weirdness.”

Alright so this has got to be THE ugliest neon breaker I have ever seen. I have cut off a few pups, but it just keeps making them. The pups are starting to take over, but I want the weirdness to grow. @KelsiBriana I am thinking about cutting the pups off as they come. From what I read they are using energy that could be going to the weirdness. Would you, personally cut them?

Just sent a baby off in a trade, gotta have at least ten babies hiding in here. Not gonna take any more babies, just gonna let it happen. #succulent #echeveria #neonbreakers

Still looking wonky @KelsiBriana. On the bottom of some of the leaves there are what looks like little plateaus. #succulent #echeveria #neonbreakers

On the upside it is producing lots of pups. Just about all the way around. I read somewhere that sometimes when a plant is stressed it will do this. Related to the wonky leaves? #succulent-help #succulent #echeveria #neonbreakers

#help What is going on with my neon breaker. I noticed it was growing in weird a few months ago, so I checked it for pests. I didn’t see anything but I sprayed it down anyways. Been constantly looking for bugs on this guy, and have sprayed it down twice more. Still growing weird. The leaves are fusing together and it is growing off to the side. 🤔🤔🤔 #succulent #succulent-help #neonbreakers
Maybe cresting?
@lovestogarden that would be so neat!
@KelsiBriana I was kind of hoping that it was cresting or something. I love them weird. It is looking quite ugly right now lol. Lost most of it’s stress coloring recently so it’s looking pretty nasty. New growth is still weird. I took some pictures of it after I read your comment but it is getting late and lighting isn’t so good. ☹️

Gosh this plant looks so different from when I first got it 😮 #succulent #echeveria #neonbreakers
Almost died during the summer of death last year. Sooooo relieved that I was able to save this plant AND it's mutation. Slow going but picking up speed now that it's spring.
Looking like it died from inside but surviving from outside 🔥
@KelsiBriana this plant is too stressful lol. @riya12 the only reason I knew it wasn't DEAD dead is because it kept making babies and the leaves would get hard when I water.
