Following the amazing flowers on our large cordyline australis earlier in the year, I’m delighted to see that sprays of white berries have formed. I’ve never seen these before!

The more photos I see of this plant, the less it reminds me of a cabbage lol

I used to have 4 or 5 spikes each year on mine in the old house Mike , bees love them

They look amazing

@juliesgarden Julie, the perfume from the flowers was really quite heady, and you’re absolutely right, the bees did love them! I’m intrigued to see what happens from here! The berries are too high up to reach, so they will have to “do their own thing”!

It certainly is a strong perfume ! Mine just used to droop and then I’d cut them off but they will probably just naturally fall if you can’t reach 👍🏻

Reposting - it’s not pampas grass (anno domini strikes again) - it’s a huge cordyline (ca 4m tall) with a huge inflorescence! Will it die after flowering?

I don't know anything about this plant, but I do know I am going to start saying "anno domini strikes again" on a regular basis lol

My old neighbour had a huge one, they just left it alone and it flowered every year. Annoyingly I cared for mine and it barely grew 😂

Will it be ok I wonder - one of several in large pots. They have survived frost and snow before, but not at this time of year. #snow

Oh no... It so wrong to be snowing at this time of year. 😖😖

Hope your plants will be OK

Just a little worrying... Fingers crossed. ❄️❄️❄️ #pots

I'm more worried about the magnolia stellata - I can just about guarantee frost/snow when it blooms as it has... ☹️
Wonderful perfume from the cordyline flowering for the second year in a row. The bees love it!
I never realised they had a perfume
