Check out those roots! Both of the cuttings I was given rotted, but I went back and got a larger cutting from the library and a cutting of similar size from a gardenia at my church. These are doing much better.

The librarian pulled these flowers off the bush outside the library, one for me and one for my daughter. She said if we keep them in water, they might take root and we could have our own gardenia bush. That's how she got hers. It smells heavenly when I do dishes now.

I moved the gardenia outside when I went on vacation so he'd have a chance to survive. He's looking a little picked on, but not too bad.
